Why Won’t My Apple Pay Work?

Check if your device is compatible

If you are using the latest version of iOS and you are still having trouble, the next thing to check is whether your bank or card issuer supports Apple Pay.

Check that you’re using the right Apple ID

– If you have an iPhone XS Max or an iPhone XR and want to pay with Apple Pay using Face ID, make sure that TrueDepth camera is clean and unobstructed.

Make sure Apple Pay is set up

If you’re having trouble using Apple Pay, there are a few things you can check:

– Make sure your device is compatible with Apple Pay.
– Check that you have the latest version of iOS.
– Make sure you’ve set up Apple Pay on your device.
– Check that you’re using a supported card.

Check your payment method

To use Apple Pay, you need a supported iPhone or iPad.*

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app and tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
Tap your Apple ID card, then turn on Allow Payments on this device.

If you can’t add a card to Wallet to use with Apple Pay, check Apple Pay in Settings. If you see No Cards Added, tap Add Card. If you don’t see Add Card or No Cards Added after tapping , contact your bank or card issuer.

Check for a software issue

If you can’t use Apple Pay on the App Store or in iTunes, make sure that you’re using the latest version of iOS or macOS, and that your device meets the minimum system requirements.

If you’re using an iPhone 6 or later, the latest version of iOS is 13.2. If you can’t install the latest version of iOS, try updating your iPhone to the latest version of iOS 12.

Make sure that you have a strong Internet connection, and then try to use Apple Pay again.
