If you’re wondering why apple watch isn’t updating, there could be a few different reasons. In this article, we’ll go over some of the most common causes and how to fix them.
Checkout this video:
Check your iPhone’s connection to the Internet
There are a few things that could be causing apple watch not to update. The most common reason is that your iPhone is not connected to the Internet. Make sure your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network or has a cellular data plan. If you’re not sure how to do this, check your iPhone’s user guide.
If your iPhone is connected to the Internet, but your Apple Watch still isn’t updating, try restarting both devices. To restart your iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the “Slide to Power Off” slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone. Once it’s off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
To restart your Apple Watch, press and hold the Side button until you see the Power Off slider. Drag the slider to turn off your watch. Once it’s off, press and hold the Side button again until you see the Apple logo.
Check for updates to your iPhone’s software
Before you can update your Apple Watch, you need to make sure that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. To do this, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap General, then tap Software Update.
Once your iPhone is up to date, open the watch app on your iPhone and tap My Watch > General > Software Update.
Check for updates to watchOS
To update your Apple Watch, you’ll need to install the latest version of watchOS. To do this, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and go to My Watch > General > Software Update.
If there’s an update available, you’ll see a message that says “Downloading,” followed by the progress bar. Once the download is complete, tap Install.
Check for updates to the Apple Watch app
On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app. Tap the watch tab then tap General > Software Update.
If an update is available, you’ll see an option to install it.
You might need your iPhone passcode to continue.
Check your iPhone’s storage
It’s possible that there just isn’t enough space on your iPhone for the new watchOS update. Every update requires a certain amount of free space on your device in order to download and install, so if you’re low on storage, that could be the problem. Here’s how to check your iPhone’s storage:
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap General -> Storage & iCloud Usage.
3. Under the Storage section, you’ll see how much space is available on your device.
If you’re low on storage, you’ll need to delete some files from your iPhone in order to make room for the update. You can do this by going through your app and media files and deleting any that you no longer need.
Check for updates to third-party apps
If you have third-party apps on your Apple Watch, check for updates to those apps. To do this, open the App Store app on your iPhone, then tap Updates. If an update is available, tap Update. You might need to enter apple id password.
Restart your iPhone and your Apple Watch
If you can’t update your Apple Watch because your iPhone is out of date, make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi, then go to the Watch app on your iPhone and tap General > Software Update. If a software update is available for your Apple Watch, you’ll be prompted to install it.
