Check if your device is compatible
If you’re having trouble using Apple Pay, make sure that your device is compatible. You use apple pay on the iPhone 6 or later, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 or later, apple watch If you have an iPhone 5s or earlier, iPod touch 6th generation or earlier, or iPad Air or earlier, you can’use apple pay
To see if your device is compatible:
-On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
-Tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
-If you don’t see an option to set up Apple Pay, contact your carrier to make sure that your device is set up for Apple Pay.
Check if you have the latest version of iOS
If you’re using an iPhone 6 or later, make sure that you have the latest version of iOS. To check, go to Settings > General > About. If there’s a new update available, tap Download and Install.
Check if you have the latest version of watchOS
If you have apple watch Series 3 or later, check that you have the latest version of watchOS. To do this, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, then tap General > About. If there’s a newer version of watchOS available, tap Install.
If you don’t see an Install button, it means that you have the latest version of watchOS.
Check if you have the latest version of macOS
If you’re using Apple Pay on the web in Safari and you can’t make a purchase, check to see if there’s an update available for your Mac.
On your Mac, open the App Store.
Click the Updates tab.
If an update for Safari is available, click Update.
Check if you have the latest version of tvOS
If you have an Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, make sure that you have the latest version of tvOS.
On your Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, go to Settings > System > Software Updates. If there’s an update available, download and install it.
Check your internet connection
One of the most common reasons why Apple Pay isn’t working is because your iPhone isn’t connected to the internet. Make sure that your iPhone is connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network before you try use apple pay If you’re not sure how to check your connection, follow these steps:
Open your iPhone’s Settings app.
Tap Cellular Data or Mobile Data. If you don’t see either option, tap Cellular or Mobile and then turn on the cellular data switch.
Tap Wi-Fi and turn on the Wi-Fi switch.
Check if you have enough battery life
Apple Pay requires an iPhone 6 or later with iOS 8.1 or later, or an Apple Watch with watchOS 2.0 or later. If you’re using an iPhone, make sure that it has enough battery life to complete the transaction. You can also check to see if Apple Pay is set up on your device by going to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay.
Check if you have set up Apple Pay
If you’re having trouble using Apple Pay, make sure that you’ve set it up correctly.
First, check to see if your device is compatible with Apple Pay. If you’re using an iPhone 6 or later, you can use Apple Pay in stores, within apps, and on websites in Safari. If you have an iPhone SE or an earlier model iPhone, you can only use Apple Pay in apps and on websites in Safari.
To use Apple Pay in stores, your device must be running iOS 8.1 or later and have Near Field Communication (NFC). To use Apple Pay within apps, your device must be running iOS 8.2 or later. And to use Apple Pay on websites in Safari, your device must be running iOS 9 or later or macOS Sierra version 10.12 or later. If you’re not sure which version of iOS or macOS you have installed, find out by going to Settings > General > About on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or visiting About This Mac from the menu bar on your Mac.
If your device is compatible with Apple Pay but you still can’t set it up, try restarting your device. If that doesn’t work, make sure that you’re signed in to iCloud with apple id and that Siri is turned on.
You should also check to see if the payment method that you’re trying to use with Apple Pay is set up correctly in the Wallet app. And if you’re using a debit card from a credit union or bank that’s not part of the major credit card networks, check with your financial institution to see if it works with Apple Pay.
Check if you have a supported card
Apple Pay works with most credit and debit cards from major card issuers. Just add your supported cards and continue to get all the rewards, benefits, and security of your cards.
To see if your bank or card issuer is support, check the list of support issuers or contact your bank or card issuer.
