Apple Valley is a town located in the Victor Valley of San Bernardino County, in the U.S. state of California. It was incorporated on November 14, 1988, and has grown rapidly since then. The town is located at the southern edge of the Mojave Desert in the Victor Valley, about 10 miles (16 km) east of Victorville.

Apple Valley is governed by a town council. The Apple Valley Town Center has the city hall, library, and offices for the mayor and town council. In 2014 a new movie theater opened up near town center called “The Legacy Theatre”. The theater offers three screens and stadium style seating with reserved seating and provides digital projection and sound along with traditional film projection. It is one of only four movie theaters in the High Desert region of California.
The Civic Center Park, adjacent to Town Hall, contains an enclosed pavilion with picnic tables, a children’s play area with a tot lot, lighted tennis courts, an outdoor amphitheater used for special events such as music concerts and the Summer Drama Camp performance, lighted softball fields, an inline hockey rink open to skaters age 14 years and younger (with full safety gear), skateboard park and restroom facilities.

Apple Valley is the hometown of several professional athletes, including Major League Baseball player Mike Trout and Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete Bryan Clay
Major League Baseball player Mike Trout was born in Apple Valley, California, in 1991. He attended high school in the town before being drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in 2009. Trout made his Major League debut in 2011 and has since become one of the best players in baseball, winning multiple MVP awards and All-Star selections.
Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete Bryan Clay was born in Apple Valley in 1979. He competed in his first decathlon while attending college at Azusa Pacific University and went on to win gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Clay retired from competition in 2016 and now runs a youth sports foundation bearing his name.
