The App Store is not on the first screen of your Apple TV like it is on your iPhone or iPad. To find it, you’ll need to go to the main menu by pressing the TV button on your Siri remote.
Once you’re at the main menu, scroll until you find the App Store icon. It looks like a blue “A” on a white square.
Click on the App Store icon and you’ll be taken to a new screen where you can browse all of the available apps.
Select “Settings.”
Select the “Settings” option from the main screen of your Apple TV to open the Settings menu. This is where you’ll select options that change how your Apple TV functions.
Scroll down and select “General.”
It’s easy to find the App Store on your Apple TV. Just follow these steps:
1. Scroll down to the bottom of the main menu and select “General.”
2. Select “Settings.”
3. Select “Accounts.”
4. Select “iTunes & App Store.”
5. You will be prompted to enter your password. Once you have entered your password, the App Store will appear.
Scroll down and select “About.”
The very first thing you should do after connecting your new Apple TV to your television is find the App Store. For those who are familiar with iOS, the process of finding and installing apps on the new tvOS is similar but with a few key differences. If you’re not familiar with iOS, don’t worry, we’ll walk you through the process step-by-step.
The first thing you need to do is launch settings app on your Apple TV. You can do this by scrolling down and selecting the “Settings” icon from the top row.
Once you’re in settings app scroll down to the “About” section and select it.
Scroll down to the “Software Updates” section and select that.
From here, you should see an option that says “Download and Install.” Select it and follow the prompts to install any updates that are available for your Apple TV.
Once your software is up to date, scroll back up to the “About” section and select the “Applications” option.
From here, select the “App Store” option. This will launch the tvOS App Store on your Apple TV.
Scroll down to the “Version” section.
The App Store is not available on older Apple TV models, but if you have a 4th generation or newer Apple TV, you can access the App Store. To do so:
1. Open settings app on your Apple TV.
2. Scroll down to the “System” section and select “About”.
3. Scroll down to the “Version” section.
4. The number next to “tvOS” is your Apple TV’s operating system version number. If it says “11” or higher, you have access to the App Store.
Select the “Software Updates” option.
If a Software Update option is available, select it and follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the latest software for your Apple TV.
Once the software has been updated, open the App Store and see if it has appeared.
Select “Download and Install.”
Your Apple TV will now begin downloading and installing the latest software update. Once it has completed the process, your Apple TV will restart itself and you should now see the App Store icon on your home screen.
Agree to the terms and conditions.
This may seem like a no-brainer, but you need to agree to the terms and conditions before you can do anything else. If you’re not sure how to do this, just follow the on-screen prompts. Once you’ve agreed to the terms and conditions, you’ll be able to access the App Store.
Enter your password.
If you’ve never used the App Store or iTunes Store on your Apple TV, you might be prompted to enter a password. If you have apple id that doesn’t have a password, you’ll be prompted to create one.
Wait for the update to download and install.
It can take a few minutes for the update to download and install, so be patient. Once it’s done, you’ll be able to use the App Store on your Apple TV just like you would on your iPhone or iPad. Happy shopping!
