What to Do If You Forget Your Apple ID Password

Go to iforgot.apple.com.

If you forget apple id password you can go to iforgot.apple.com to reset it. You’ll need to enter the email address or phone number associated with your Apple ID, and then you’ll be able to reset your password.

Enter your Apple ID.

If you forget your Apple ID, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to find it.

When you enter your Apple ID, you’ll be asked to enter the answer to your security question. If you can’t remember your security question, or if you don’t have one, you can click “Try something else.”

Choose the option to reset your password.

There are a few different ways you can reset your Apple ID password. If you have an iPhone, iPad, ipod touch with iOS 10.3 or later, you can change your password in the Settings app. Go to Settings > [your name], then tap Password & Security. If you’re asked to enter your Apple ID password, click “Forgot Apple ID or password?” and follow the instructions.

If you have two-factor authentication turned on for your Apple ID, you can’t use the web to change your password. Use one of the other options below.

If you don’t have access to any of your devices or can’t remember your Apple ID, you can change your password on the Apple ID account page.

Select Continue.

If you use security questions with your Apple ID, or if you don’t have access to a trusted device or phone number, go to iforgot.apple.com.

Enter your Apple ID, then select Continue.
Choose how to reset your password:
-Get an email
-Answer security questions
-If you see a message that says your account has been disabled or you can’t reset your password,contact apple support

Enter the CAPTCHA code.

If you’re prompted for a CAPTCHA code, enter the code shown on the screen. If you don’t see a CAPTCHA code, wait a few moments and try again.

Choose how to reset your password:

If you forgot your Apple ID password, you can reset it and regain access to your account. To reset your password, you’ll need to know the email address for your Apple ID.

If you don’t know your Apple ID, you can look it up.

If you have an account with two-factor authentication enabled, you can’t use third-party security apps to sign in to your account or reset your password. You need to disable two-factor authentication before you can use a third-party security app.

Get an email

If you forgot your Apple ID password, you can reset it with the email address that you used to create your Apple ID.

1. Go to your Apple ID account page and click “Forgot your Apple ID?”.
2. Enter your email address and click Continue.
3. If you enter the wrong email address, you can try again by clicking “Forgot your Apple ID?”.
4. You’ll see a message that says “If an account exists with that email address, we’ll send you instructions to reset your password.” Check your email for a message from Apple with instructions on how to reset your password.
5. If you don’t get an email, check your spam folder contact apple support for help.

Answer security questions

If you want to reset your Apple ID password but don’t have access to your iPhone, you can do so by answering a series of security questions. Here’s how:

1. Open the Apple ID website.
2. Click “Forgot your Apple ID?”
3. Enter your Apple ID email address and click “Continue.”
4. On the next page, select “Answer security questions” and click “Continue.”
5. Answer each of the security questions and click “Continue.”
6. If all goes well, you’ll be taken to a page where you can enter a new password for your Apple ID account.

Use Apple ID recovery

If you use Apple services, you already have an Apple ID and don’t need to create a new one. If you forgot your Apple ID, you can look it up.

If you want to sign in with a different Apple ID on your device, use these steps:

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

Tap Settings > [your name].
Scroll down and tap Sign Out. If you’re using iOS 11 or earlier, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
Enter your Apple ID and password and tap Turn Off. If you can’t turn off Find My iPhone or if the previous owner turned on Activation Lock, contact support.
Tap Sign In. Enter the Apple ID that you want to use.

On your Mac:

Choose System Preferences from the Dock or Finder.
Click iCloud and deselect everything except Contacts (if you want to keep your contacts on iCloud).
Click the Sign Out button, then enter the Apple ID that you want to use when prompted and click Continue.
