Apple Watch Series 1
The first-apple watch now called Series 1, was announced on September 9, 2016. Along with the Series 2, it was discontinued on September 12, 2017. The watch was available in rose gold, yellow gold, silver, space gray, and space black. The case sizes were 38 mm and 42 mm.
8GB storage
apple watch Series 1 is a smartwatch that was announced by Apple on September 7, 2016. It was released on September 16, 2016.[1] It is the first generation of apple watch and was initially available in three variant models: the entry-level “Apple Watch Sport”, the mid-range “Apple Watch”, and the high-end “Apple Watch Edition”. The Series 1 models were succeeded by the Series 2 lineup on September 7, 2016.
The key difference between the first-generation models and the second-generation (Series 2) is support for built-in GPS, water resistance rated at 50 meters under ISO standard 22810:2010,[4] a brighter screen,[5] and a faster dual-core processor. All three generations can wirelessly connect to an iPhone to receive notifications, run apps, etc., whereas only the Series 2 and 3 can make calls and access the internet independently of an iPhone.[6][7]
The first-apple watch Sport came with 8GB of storage, which allows for about 2GB of available space once the operating system and built-in apps are accounted for. Although not expandable via external storage methods such as SD cards or USB flash drives, users can take advantage of watchOS’s cloud capabilities to store photos,[8] fitness activity,[9] and other data offloading some content from the watch to free up storage space if needed.
Dual-core S1 processor
apple watch Series 1 is powered by a dual-core S1 processor. This processor is similar to the one found in the iPhone 6s and allows the Watch to run apps faster and more smoothly. It also enables features such as raise to wake and handoff.
OLED Retina display
The Apple Watch Series 1 features an OLED Retina display. This display is pressure-sensitive, which makes it possible to use different levels of pressure to perform different actions. The display is also scratch-resistant and has a Oleophobic coating that helps to repel fingerprints and other oily marks.
Apple Watch Series 2
The second-generation Apple Watch, called the Series 2, was announced at Apple’s September 2016 event. The biggest new feature was built-in GPS, which allows the watch to track your run or walk without needing to be tethered to your iPhone. Other new features include a water-resistant design, a brighter display, and a faster processor.
16GB storage
The16GB storage was available on the original Apple Watch and Apple Watch Series 1, but was discontinued with the release of the Series 2. If you have an Apple Watch with 16GB of storage, it is most likely an original Apple Watch or a Series 1.
Dual-core S2 processor
Apple Watch Series 2 features the dual-core S2 processor, which is up to 50 percent faster than the original Apple Watch. The S2 chip also enables new features like built-in GPS and a brighter display.
OLED Retina display
The OLED Retina display on Apple Watch Series 2 is twice as bright as the original Apple Watch, so you can see your watch face even on the sunniest of days. And because it’s built with the strength of Gorilla Glass, you don’t have to worry about scratches or smudges ruining your view.
Apple Watch Series 3
The apple watch series 3 is the latest generation of the Apple Watch. It was released on September 22, 2017, and it is the successor to the Apple Watch Series 2. The new watch has a faster processor, more storage, and a cellular data connection. It also has a new design and a new gold color option.
32GB storage
The Watch Series 3 is the latest version of Apple’s smartwatch. It comes in two sizes – 38mm and 42mm – and three colors – silver, space grey, and gold. It has a faster processor than its predecessors, and is also water-resistant up to 50 meters. The Watch Series 3 cellular model allows you to make calls and use data even when your iPhone is not nearby.
Dual-core S3 processor
The Apple Watch Series 3 features a dual-core S3 processor that is up to 70% faster than the previous S2 chip. The new processor also enables Siri to talk for the first time on the Apple Watch. The Series 3 also includes an altimeter for tracking elevation changes.
OLED Retina display
The OLED Retina display on Series 3 is able to reach higher peak brightness levels when compared to Series 2, making it more easily visible in direct sunlight. Additionally, the use of an OLED display allows for an always-on display mode that wasn’t possible with the previous generation.
