How to Determine What Kind of Apple Watch You Have

If you’re not sure which model apple watch you have, don’t worry – it’s easy to figure out. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to determine apple watch you have.

Open watch app on your iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
At the top of the screen, tap the watch tab
If you see a red dot next to WatchOS version, a new update is available.
To update wirelessly, make sure apple watch is in range of your iPhone and connected to Wi-Fi or cellular, then tap Install. Alternatively, you can update by connecting your Apple Watch to a power source and updating through the Watch app on your iPhone.
After you update, restart both your iPhone and your watch:
On your iPhone: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and Home button until the Apple logo appears.
On your watch: Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown until you see “Power off,” then drag the slider to turn off your watch. After it turns off, press and hold that side button again until you see the Apple logo.

If you have an Apple Watch, you might not be sure which model you have. To find out, just follow these simple steps:

1. Tap the My Watch tab.
2. Scroll down to the “About” section.
3. Tap “General.”
4. Tap “About.”
5. Look for the “Model” entry. It will say something like “Apple Watch Sport 38mm” or “Apple Watch 42mm.”

Scroll down to the bottom and tap About.

On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app. Tap the My Watch tab, then scroll down to the bottom and tap About. You’ll see the model name, such as Apple Watch Sport 38mm; the part number, such as MJ3T2LL/A; and serial number

Look for the Model field.

The Model field is located on the back of your Apple Watch case. To read it, hold the watch up to your face and look at the rear text. On original Apple Watch models, you’ll see a model number that starts with “A1553.” On Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 models, you’ll see a model number that starts with “A1657,” “A1758,” or “A1816.” And on Apple Watch Series 3 models, you’ll see a model number that starts with “A1858” or “A1859.”
