What is Family Sharing?
Family Sharing is a feature on Apple devices that allows a group of people to share content with each other. This can be useful if you have a family and you want to share photos, music, or even apps with each other. You can also use Family Sharing to create a shared family calendar, and to locate family members’ devices.
What are the benefits of Family Sharing?
Family Sharing is a great way for up to six family members to share app, music, movie, TV, and book purchases, as well as an iCloud storage plan. It also makes it easy to keep everyone’s calendar and contacts in sync, and helps family members locate each other using Find My iPhone. Plus, any time a family member starts a new Apple Music or Apple Arcade subscription, the whole family can enjoy it.
How to set up Family Sharing
With Family Sharing, it’s easy to share yourlocation with family members in Find My Friends, share photos and videos, and participate in Shared Albums. You can also help locate each other’s missing devices. If your device has iOS 8 or later, you can set up Family Sharing from your device. If you have an iPhone, iPad, ipod touch with iOS 7 or earlier, or if you can’t use iCloud on your device, set up Family Sharing using iTunes.
Here’s what you need to set up Family Sharing:
-An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8 or later or a Mac with OS X Yosemite or later
-A apple id signed in to iCloud and the iTunes & App Stores
-Another adult in your family who will manage the account (the “family organizer”) and who also has an Apple ID
To set up Family Sharing on your device:
1. Tap Settings > iCloud.
2. Tap Set Up Family Sharing. If you’re using iOS 10.2 or earlier, tap iCloud > Set Up Family Sharing.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to invite family members to join your family group.
Once you set up Family Sharing, everyone in your family group will have access to each other’s content in the following apps:
-iTunes Store: Share music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books that are eligible for Family Sharing.* You can also see which content each family member has purchased in their own iTunes Store account by tapping their name. Each family member will still have a separate account for their content with their own password protection. -iCloud Storage: Upgrade to a larger storage plan together *and every family member gets more storage space for their personal files

How to use Family Sharing
Family Sharing is a feature on Apple devices that lets a family of up to six people share each other’s iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases, as well as an iCloud storage plan. Each family member has their own Apple ID, but they can all share content from the iTunes store, iBooks store, and App store. In addition, Family Sharing lets you share photos, calendars, and location with your family members.

To share photos with your family, simply create a new album in the Photos app and invite your family members to contribute. Any photo that’s added to the album will be automatically shared with everyone in the group.

If you use Apple’s Calendar app, you can easily share your calendar with your family. Just go to Settings > Calendar and turn on the option for Family Sharing. All of your events will be shared with your loved ones!

Troubleshooting tips for Family Sharing

-Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on all of your devices. This lets you share content between your devices.
-Make sure that your devices are using the latest version of iOS, macOS, or tvOS.
-If you’re using iOS 10 or earlier, make sure that you have ” purchased” or “rented” the item that you want to share. You can’t share content that you haven’t purchased or rented.
-If you still can’t share content, ask your family members if they’ve turned on purchase sharing. Each family member can turn on purchase sharing in their own iCloud settings.
