To get started, make sure that both your iPhone and your Apple TV are powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Then open Control Center on your iPhone by swiping up from the bottom bezel (or down from the top right on an iPhone X/XS/XR). Look for the AirPlay icon in the upper-right corner and tap it. On the next screen, select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.

You might be prompted to enter a passcode—the one you use for your Apple TV, not your iPhone—on your TV screen before the connection is established; if so, just enter it using your remote. If everything goes as planned, you should see your iPhone’s display appear on your television almost instantly—assuming mirroring is supported by the app you’re currently using. That’s all there is to it!
