Setting up Apple Pay

Apple Pay is a great way to send money to friends and family. You can also use it to make purchases online. In order use apple pay you will need to set it up on your device. This section will cover how to set up Apple Pay on your iPhone, iPad, apple watch

Add your credit or debit card to Wallet

Open the Wallet app, then tap the plus sign.

If you’re asked to add a card that you already use with Apple Pay, just enter the card’s security code.

If you need to add a new credit or debit card, tap Add Card and follow the instructions on your screen. You might need to verify your identity with Touch ID or Face ID.

To use Apple Cash1 to send and receive money with friends and family, you must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States.

Set up Apple Pay Cash

1. Open the Wallet app and tap .
2. Tap the more button , then tap Apple Pay Cash.
3. Follow the instructions on your screen to set up Apple Pay Cash.

Sending money with Apple Pay

Use Siri to send money

You can also use Siri to send money. Just say something like “Hey Siri, send John Smith $50 using Apple Pay.” Siri will ask you to confirm the amount and the recipient, then complete the transaction using the debit or credit card you have set up in Wallet.

Use the Messages app to send money

You can use the Messages app to send money to friends and family, or to pay someone for goods and services.

To do this, you need to have iOS 11.2 or later installed on your device, and you need to set up Apple Pay.

Once you’ve done this, you can use the Messages app to send money in a few simple steps:

1. Open the Messages app and find the conversation that you want to send money in.
2. Tap on the ‘$’ icon above the keyboard. If you don’t see this icon, tap on the ‘A’ icon and then select the ‘$’ icon from the menu.
3. Enter the amount of money that you want to send. You can also tap on one of the preset amounts ($1, $5, $10, $25 or $50) at the bottom of the screen.
4. Tap on ‘Pay’ when you’re ready to send the money.
5. You will be asked to confirm your payment with Face ID or Touch ID (if you have an iPhone with one of these features). Once you’ve done this, your payment will be sent immediately.

Use the Wallet app to send money

Tap the card that you want to use. You may need to enter the card security code.

Tap , then enter an amount. Tap Pay, then confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.

Receiving money with Apple Pay

You use apple pay to receive money from friends and family. To do this, you’ll need to set up Apple Pay Cash on your iPhone. Once you’ve done that, you can start receiving money. Here’s how.

Use Siri to ask for money

Use Siri to ask for money.
If you have an iPhone 6s or later, you can use Siri to ask for money. Just say something like “send $20 to Ali.”1 After you confirm your payment with Touch ID or Face ID, the money will be sent using Apple Pay. To send money with Siri, make sure that you set up Apple Pay and Apple Pay Cash on your iPhone, and that Hey Siri is turned on.
Open the Messages app, then start a new conversation or tap an existing one.
Tap , then tap .
Say something like “send $20 to Cory.” You can also ask for the amount in dollars and cents, like “send twenty dollars and fifty two cents to Yoshi.”
Tap Send, then confirm your payment with Face ID or Touch ID.

Use the Messages app to ask for money

Don’t have time to run to the ATM or don’t like carrying cash? No problem. You can request money from friends and family right in the Messages app. Here’s how:

1. Open an existing conversation or start a new one.
2. Tap .
3. Tap .
4. Enter the amount you want to request, then tap Request.
5. Tap Pay, then confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.
6. Your friend will get a notification to pay you; they can tap Pay or ignore the request.

If they have Apple Pay set up, they can tap Pay and confirm their payment with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode. If they don’t have Apple Pay set up yet, they’ll be prompted to set it up in order to pay you.

Use the Wallet app to ask for money

Open the Wallet app, then tap . Under your Apple Cash card, tap . Enter an amount and tap Ask for Money. Choose how you’d like to ask for money:

– iMessage: Tap , then enter a message. Tap Send.
– FaceTime: During a FaceTime call, tap , then enter a message. Tap Send.
– Mail: Tap , then tap the Mail app. Enter an email address and a message, then tap Send.

Troubleshooting

If you’re having trouble using Apple Pay to send money, there are a few things you can try. First, make sure you have the latest version of the iOS software installed on your iPhone. I can’t add a card to Apple Pay

I can’t send or receive money with Apple Pay

If you can’t send or receive money with Apple Pay, make sure that you’re using a supported device and version of iOS.

Here are some other things to check:

-Make sure that you’re signed in to iCloud with your Apple ID.
-If you’re using iOS 11 or later, make sure that Do Not Disturb is turned off.
-If you have questions about your limit for sending and receiving money, contact your card issuer to find out more.
