Apple Pay can be used at many drive-thrus. To use Apple Pay, hold your iPhone 8 or later near the touchless reader with your finger on Touch ID. You may be asked to hold the top of your iPhone up to the reader. If you’re using an iPhone X or later, double-click the side button, then hold the top of your iPhone close to the contactless reader.

If you’re using an iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation) or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) with Face ID, double-click the top button, then hold the top of your iPad Pro close to the contactless reader. If you have an earlier model iPad Pro or an iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3 or later, you can use Apple Pay in apps.

Some drive-thrus may also accept Apple Pay without Touch ID or Face ID by holding your iPhone close to the reader and authorizing the payment with your passcode.

To use Apple Pay in Safari, you need an iPhone 6 or later, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3 or later.
