To set up Apple Cash on your iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner. From there, tap “Continue” on the Apple Cash card and follow the instructions.

If you have an iPad, you can set up Apple Cash by going to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay, then tapping “Add Card.” Follow the instructions from there.

Once you have your Apple Cash card set up, you start using it right away. To do so, just open the Wallet app and choose your Apple Cash card as your payment method when making a purchase. You can use apple cash to pay for things online or in apps.

How to use Apple Cash

Apple Cash is a convenient way to pay for goods and services using your iPhone or other Apple device. You use apple cash to pay for purchases at any retailer that accepts Apple Pay, or you can use it to send money to friends and family.

Using Apple Pay

To pay in stores with your iPhone apple watch look for the Apple Pay mark or an Accepted Payments sign. Then, hold your device near the contactless reader. On your iPhone X, double-click the Side button. On iPhone 8 or earlier, or on iPod touch, triple-click the Home button. To pay with iPad, select Apple Pay at the checkout and place your finger on Touch ID.

You might need to sign a receipt or enter a PIN. If you’re asked to provide additional information, hold your iPhone near the reader without resting your finger on Touch ID.

If you’re paying with iPhone X or later and you’re asked to authenticate with Face ID, double-click the Side button then look at your iPhone. You might need to enter a PIN.

Using the Apple Store app

When you’re ready to make a purchase, just hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch ID. You don’t even need to wake up your iPhone or open the Wallet app. If you’re using Face ID on iPhone X or later, double-click the side button, then glance at your iPhone to complete the purchase.

Using Apple Cash with Family and Friends

You can use Apple Cash with family and friends in the Messages app, or you can use it to pay someone in the app that you already use for payments.

When you use Apple Cash with family and friends, you can either send money for free, or you can use a credit or debit card to pay a fee of 3% per transaction.

Here’s how to use Apple Cash with family and friends:

1. Open a conversation in the Messages app.

2. Tap the Apple Pay button , then tap Apple Cash. If you don’t see the button, tap , then tap Add Money.

3. Enter an amount, then tap Pay.

4. Verify your identity using Touch ID or Face ID. If you’re asked to add a card, tap Add Card, then follow the instructions on your screen to add a debit or prepaid card from your Wallet. Adding a credit card is not currently supported for Apple Cash payments.
5. Tap Pay, then wait for your recipient to accept the payment and cash out to their bank account.
