How to Unpair Your Apple Watch Without Your iPhone

Open watch app on your iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

Tap the My Watch tab, then tap All Watches at the top of the screen.

Tap the info button next to the watch that you want to unpair, then tap apple watch

Tap the My Watch tab.

On your iPhone, open the Watch app, then tap the My Watch tab.

Tap your watch at the top of the screen, then tap Unpair Apple Watch. For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you want to continue using iCloud, reminders, and other features on your iPhone that are synced with your Apple Watch, turn off Backup first.

Enter apple id password, then tap Turn Off.

Tap General > Reset.

On your Apple Watch, tap General > Reset.

Tap Erase all content and settings.

For cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you want to continue using cellular service on your new Apple Watch, make sure that it’s in range of your iPhone during the setup process. If you don’t see the option to keep your cellular plan, contact your carrier.

Tap Erase everything.

If you’re giving your Apple Watch to someone else or you want start using a new one, you need to unpair it from your current iPhone first. Here’s how:

Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
Tap the My Watch tab.
Tap your watch at the top of the screen.
Tap the info button next to your watch.
Tap Unpair Apple Watch.
For GPS + Cellular models, tap to remove your cellular plan.
Enter apple id password and tap Turn Off.

If you can’t turn off “Find my iPhone” on your device before you unpair it, you’ll need factory reset it before you can pair it with another iPhone. After you factory reset, make sure that “Find my iPhone” is turned off on both devices before pairing them.

If you have an Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE, you might need to enter your Apple ID and password to disable Activation Lock.

Unpairing your Apple Watch should be pretty straightforward. After all, that’s what the “unpair” button is for in the Watch app on your iPhone. But if for some reason you can’t get it to work, or you’re trying to unpair your Watch from a new iPhone without setting it up first, there’s another way.

Here’s how to unpair and reset your Apple Watch, even if you don’t have your iPhone:

1. On your Watch, press and hold the side button until the Power Off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off your Watch. Wait for a few seconds, then press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.
3. When your Watch has restarted, go to the Settings app on your Watch (not the Settings app on your iPhone).
4. Tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. This will delete everything from your Watch, including any credit or debit cards you’ve added for Apple Pay, and anyActivity data you’ve collected.
5. Once that’s done, press and hold the side button again until you see the Power Off slider appear. Drag the slider to turn off your Watch.
6. To finish unpairing, go back to the Settings app on your iPhone, tap Bluetooth, then tap the “i” next to your Apple Watch and tap Forget This Device.

Tap Erase All.

If you’re selling or giving away your Apple Watch, you’ll need to unpair it from your iPhone. Here’s how to do it without your iPhone.

1. On your Apple Watch, tap Settings > General > Reset.
2. Tap Erase All Content and Settings > Erase All.
3. Enter your passcode when prompted, then tap Erase All again to confirm.

Enter your Apple ID password to confirm.

If you’re selling or giving away your Apple Watch, you’ll need to unpair it from your iPhone. If you don’t have your iPhone or can’t unpair it for some reason, you can still unpair your devices. Follow the steps below to do so:

1. On your Apple Watch, open the Settings app.
2. Tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
3. Enter your Apple ID password to confirm.
