Open watch app on your iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

Tap the watch tab then tap your watch at the top of the screen.

Tap the info button next to the watch that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair Apple Watch.

For GPS + Cellular models, you need to also turn off Activate on iPhone. If you don’t see this option, contact your carrier.

Tap again to confirm.

Tap the My Watch tab.

On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
Tap the My Watch tab.
Tap your watch at the top of the screen.
Tap the info button next to your watch.

For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you want to keep your plan, you can still use it with a different Apple Watch. Just pair it to your new watch and contact your carrier to assign it to your new device.

Tap General > Reset.

Unpairing is relatively simple, but there are a few things to keep in mind. For one, unpairing will also disable Activation Lock on your Watch, so anyone will be able to pair and use it with their iPhone. Additionally, if you’re running watchOS 7 or later, you’ll need to unpair your Watch using the Watch app on your iPhone; on older versions of watchOS, you can unpair directly from the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

Here’s how to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone:

1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the My Watch tab.
3. Tap All Watches at the top of the screen.
4. Select the watch that you want to unpair.
5. Tap Unpair [Watch].
6. Tap again to confirm that you want to unpair and erase all data from your watchOS device.

Tap Erase All Content and Settings.

If you want to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone, you’ll need to follow these steps:

1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the My Watch tab.
3. Tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
4. Enter your passcode when prompted, then tap Erase All to confirm your decision.
5. Once the process is complete, your Apple Watch will be reset to its factory settings and you’ll need to set it up again from scratch.

For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan.

If you have an Apple Watch GPS + Cellular, you can choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you decide to keep your plan, your watch will remain connected to the cellular network and you’ll be able to make and receive calls, send and receive texts, and use other cellular data features.

If you decide to remove your cellular plan, your watch will no longer be able to use any cellular data features, including making and receiving calls and texts and using apps that require a data connection. You’ll still be able to use other features that don’t require a data connection, such as tracking your fitness activities or playing music stored on your watch.

If you have an Apple Watch GPS model, you won’t see the option to keep or remove your cellular plan.

Here’s how to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone:

1. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
3. Tap Erase All, then enter your password when prompted
4. Wait for the process to finish, then tap Set Up as New Apple Watch when prompted

Enter apple id password, then tap Erase Everything.

If you have an Apple Watch and you got a new iPhone, unpair your Apple Watch from your previous iPhone before you set up your new device. Unpairing automatically backs up your Apple Watch so that you can restore it after you pair with a new iPhone.

1. On your previous iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen.
3. Tap the info button , then tap Unpair Apple Watch.
4. Enter apple id password then tap Erase Everything.

If you turned off Automatic Downloads for music, apps, or books on your previous iPhone, turn it back on. Otherwise, you might not be able to re-download content that you bought on those devices.
