How to Unpair Your Apple Watch from Your iPhone

Here’s how to unpair apple watch from your iPhone, which is necessary if you’re selling or giving away apple watch or if you’re switching to a new iPhone.

Open watch app on your iPhone.

To unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone, you’ll need to open the Watch app on your iPhone. Once you’ve opened the app, tap on the “My Watch” tab, then tap on “All Watches.” From here, select the watch that you want to unpair, then tap on “Unpair Apple Watch.” You may be prompted to enter apple id password to confirm.

Tap the My Watch tab.

Tap your watch at the top of the screen, then tap the info button .

Tap Unpair Apple Watch.

Tap General > Reset.

To unpair your devices start over, tap Erase All Content and Settings. You need to enter apple id password to continue.

If you can’t access your iPhone or can’t unpair using the Watch app, you can unpair directly from your Apple Watch. First, put your watch on its charger and make sure that it’s in range of your iPhone. Then open the Settings app on your watch, tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

When you unpair, your Apple Watch will back up automatically. You can use this backup to set up your Apple Watch again.

If you have an LTE model, you might need to contact your carrier to cancel your cellular plan. Or if you’re on a family plan, you might need to transfer your number to another family member before you unpair.
