How to Unpair Your Apple Watch from Your iPhone

If you’re selling apple watch or upgrading to a new model, you’ll need to unpair it from your iPhone first. Here’s how!

Open watch app on your iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

Tap the watch tab

Tap All Watches at the top of the screen.

Tap the info button next to the watch that you want to unpair.

Tap apple watch For GPS + Cellular models, you’ll need to enter your passcode, then tap Unpair.

Tap the My Watch tab.

On your iPhone, open apple watch app. Tap the My Watch tab. Scroll to the bottom tap unpair apple watch For GPS + Cellular models, you’ll need to enter your passcode.

If you turned off Automatic Selection for your watch, choose a plan. If you have an Apple Watch Nike+, enter your Nike+ account information. Tap Continue, then follow the instructions.

Tap General > Reset.

On your Apple Watch, tap Settings > General > Reset.

Tap Erase all content and settings, then enter your passcode.

Tap Erase Watch. If you paired your watch with an iPhone, unpairing deletes the backup of your watch’s data from that iPhone; if you unpaired using iCloud, the backup remains. You need to back up again when you pair your watch with a new iPhone.

Tap Erase All Content and Settings.

Erasing all content and settings on your Apple Watch will revert it to factory settings. This means that all of your data, including apps, will be deleted from the device. If you have an iPhone, you will need to unpair it from your Apple Watch before you can erase all content and settings.

To unpair your devices:
1. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap General > Reset.
3. Tap Erase All Content and Settings, then enter your passcode if prompted.
4. Tap Erase Everything to confirm.
5. Once the process is complete, your Apple Watch will be reset to factory settings and you’ll need to set it up again.

For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan.

If you have an Apple Watch with cellular, you can choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you keep your plan, your watch will remain connected to the cellular network and you’ll be able to make and receive calls and use other data services even when your iPhone isn’t with you. If you remove your plan, your watch will no longer be able to connect to the cellular network.

To keep or remove your cellular plan:
1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Cellular.
3. Tap Cancel Plan or Keep Plan.

Enter apple id password, then tap Erase Everything.

If you can’t update or restore your Apple Watch, you might need to unpair it from your iPhone and set it up again.

Before you unpair, make sure to back up your watch. When you unpair, all your content is backed up automatically. If you don’t have an iCloud backup, make a backup of your watch using iTunes.

Unpairing will erase all content from your watch. If you want to keep any of your content, follow these steps before you unpair:
-Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap the My Watch tab.
-Tap General > About.
-Tap the information that you want to keep. For example, to keep Health data, tap Health Data > Export Health Data, then follow the onscreen instructions.
