Open Settings on your Apple device

Open Settings on your Apple device. Two-factor authentication is built into iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS from Apple. When you set up two-factor authentication, you need to provide two pieces of information—your password and a six-digit verification code—to sign in. If you have iOS 11 or later on your iPhone or iPad, or macOS High Sierra or later on your Mac, you can turn off two-factor authentication.

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security for apple id designed to ensure that only you can access your account, even if someone knows your password. When you turn on two-factor authentication, you’ll need to enter a verification code anytime you sign in with apple id on a new device or browser. You can also use two-factor authentication to sign in to third-party apps with your Apple ID.

If you decide that you don’t want to use two-factor authentication anymore, you can turn it off for your account. Here’s how:

Tap your name at the top of the screen, then tap Password & Security.
Tap Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication.
Enter the verification code that was sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete the process.

Tap your name.
Tap Password & Security.
Tap Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication.

Under Two-Factor Authentication, tap Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication

Here’s how to turn off two-factor authentication for your Apple ID:

Sign in to apple id account page
In the Security section, click Edit.
Click Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication.
Click again to confirm.

Two-factor authentication is now turned off for your Apple ID.

Enter apple id password and tap Turn Off

If you’using ios 11 3 or later on your iPhone, you can turn off two-factor authentication. Go to Settings > [your name] > Password & Security. Tap Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication.

If you’re using iOS 10.3 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud > your Apple ID. Tap Password & Security > Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication.

Enter apple id password and tap Turn Off.
