How to Turn Off Explicit Content on Apple Music

If you’re not a fan of explicit content, you can easily turn it off on Apple Music. Here’s how!

Open settings app

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad, ipod touch then tap Music. To turn off explicit language for all songs: turn off Clean Language under Playlists and Albums.

Scroll down and tap Music.

Explicit content in music can be a controversial topic. Some people feel that it’s unnecessarily offensive, while others believe that it’s a form of self-expression. Whether you fall on one side of the debate or the other, there may be times when you want to avoid explicit content in your music streaming.

Fortunately, if you’using apple music there’s an easy way to filter out explicit songs and albums. Here’s how to do it:

Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Scroll down and tap Music.
Under the Playback section, toggle off the switch next to Show Explicit Content.

Now, when you browse Apple Music, anysong or album with explicit content will be labeled as such, and you’ll have the option to play it or not. Keep in mind that this setting will apply to all devices that are signed in with apple id so you won’t need to repeat this process on each one.

Scroll down and tap Explicit Content.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Open the Settings app.tap general > Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode. Scroll down and tap Explicit Content. Tap to turn show apple music Explicit Content.

On your Mac:
Open iTunes and go to Preferences > Parental. Click the lock icon in the bottom-left corner of the window, then enter your administrator password or fingerprint. In the For movies, TV shows, and apps section, select the country or region where you want to be able to access explicit content. In the For music section, select Allow All Songs Explicit.

Tap the switch next to Allow Explicit Content to turn it off.

If you’d rather not see or hear Explicit content in apple music app you can disable it. This setting is on by default, but you can turn it off at any time. When you turn off Explicit Content, you might also want to turn off Automatic Downloads for music and apps, which can also include age-restricted content.

Here’s how:

Open the Settings app.
Tap Music.
Tap the switch next to Allow Explicit Content to turn it off.
