How to Turn Off Your Apple TV With the Remote

Open settings app

On the main Settings screen, scroll down and select “Remotes and Devices,” then select “Remote.” If you have an apple tv model, this option may be labeled “Bluetooth.”

On the next screen, scroll down and select “Turn Off.” A confirmation message will appear on the screen. Select “Yes” to confirm.

Scroll down and select Remotes and Devices.

On the second-apple tv remote press and hold the Menu button for about five seconds. On the third-apple tv remote press and hold the Play/Pause button for about five seconds.

Select Turn Off.

If you don’t see the turn off option, you might need to first open Settings, then go to General > Accessibility > VoiceOver, and turn VoiceOver off.

If you have an Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, you can turn it off by holding down the Home button on your Siri Remote for about six seconds. The light on your Siri Remote will flash, and after a few moments, your Apple TV will go dark and enter sleep mode.

You can also put your Apple TV to sleep without turning it off:
– From home screen swipe up to access the Control Center.
– Select Settings.
– Scroll down and select Sleep Now.
