How to Use the Activity App
When you wear your Apple Watch, the Activity app tracks your movement throughout the day. This includes calories burned, steps taken, and how much time you spend being active. If you want to see all this data in one place, you can check the Activity app on your iPhone. You can also customize your goals and view your progress over time. In this article, we’ll show you how to use the Activity app to track your workout.
Checking Your Activity Rings
The Activity app on your Apple Watch shows three rings: Move, Exercise, and Stand.
As you go about your day, the Move ring tracks how many active calories you burn.
To close your Move ring, you need to burn enough active calories to equal the number of calories that the Activity app estimates you’ve burned so far that day. You can view this number by tapping theMove ring.
The Exercise ring tracks how many minutes of brisk activity you’ve done so far that day. To close the Exercise ring, you need to do at least 30 minutes of brisk activity. Brisk activity is defined as anything that raises your heart rate consistently and significantly above resting.
In most cases, any activity that makes you breathe hard and break a sweat counts as brisk activity, even if it’s not what some people would consider “exercise.” For instance, carrying groceries or pushing a stroller are activities that can help close your Exercise ring.
You don’t have to do all of your minutes of brisk activity at once. For example, if you walk for 20 minutes during your lunch break and then run for 20 minutes after work, those 40 minutes add up to help close your Exercise ring.
The Stand ring tracks how often you stand up and move around each hour. To close the Stand ring, you need to stand up and move around for at least one minute during 12 different hours in the day. Even if you stand up and move around for just a minute each hour, those 12 active seconds add up over the course of the day to help close your Stand goal. computers

You can share your Activity rings with other iPhone users who also have an Apple Watch. To do this, open the Activity app on your iPhone, then tap the Sharing tab. Tap Add Friend, then enter the email address or phone number of the person you want to invite.
