How to Take the Band Off an Apple Watch

Power off your Watch

Before you begin, make sure your Watch is powered off. If you’re planning on replacing your band with a new one, you’ll need to remove your old band first.

To power off your Watch, press and hold the side button until the sliders appear. Drag the Power Off slider to the right. Once your Watch is off, the screen will be dark.

Remove the band

Before you remove your band, discharge apple watch below 50%. A full charge can take up to 2.5 hours.

To remove your band:

Firmly press the quick release button on the back of your watch. If your band doesn’t have a quick release button, hold the band near the bottom of the case and press and hold the release button.
If necessary, use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry the band away from the case.
Press and hold the band release button, then slide the band across to remove it.

3.Repeat on the other side.

Slide the band across to the opposite side

To remove apple watch band, slide the band across to the opposite side of the watch. Press and hold the release button, then slide the band out. If you can’t slide the band out, it might be stuck. To release a stuck band, press and hold both the band-release button and a flat surface on the back of the watch case at the same time.

Lift the band off

To take the band off, you need to push the band release button, which is located on the back of the watch. The button is recessed, so you’ll need to use a flat object, like a paperclip, to press it.

Once you’ve pressed the band release button, the band should come off easily. If it’s stuck, try slipping a finger under the band and wiggling it back and forth until it comes loose.

Repeat on the other side

Now that one side is done, it’s time to move on to the other. Again, you’ll want start by pressing the release button. But this time, you’ll be doing it on the other side of the watch.

Once you’ve pressed the release button, the band should pop right off. If it doesn’t, you can try using your other hand to help pry it off.

Once the band is off, you can put it back on by reversing the process. Start by lining up the band with the connectors on the side of the watch. Then, press down until you hear a clicking noise. That means the band is properly attached and ready to go!
