How to Sync Your Apple Pencil

Learn how to sync apple pencil with your iPad or iPhone so you can get the most out of your drawing and writing experience.

Open settings app on your iPad.

Open settings app on your iPad. TapMy Devices, then tap your Apple Pencil. If you don’t see your Apple Pencil, make sure that Bluetooth is on and that your Apple Pencil is charged. Tap info button next to your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device. Restart your iPad, then open settings app and repeat steps 2-5.

Tap the Bluetooth tab.

From here, you can view the current Bluetooth devices that are paired with your iPad. If your Apple Pencil doesn’t appear in this list, try these steps:
-Unplug the Lightning connector from your iPad and wait for about 10 seconds.
-Plug the Lightning connector into your iPad and wait for the Apple Pencil to turn on.
-Tap the Bluetooth tab, then tap the info button next to your Apple Pencil.
-Tap Forget This Device, then tap Forget Device.
-TurnBluetooth off on all of your devices, then restart your iPad.
-TurnBluetooth off on your iPad, then restart your iPad.

Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.

In order to sync your Apple Pencil, you’ll need to make sure that Bluetooth is turned on. To do this, open the Settings app on your iPad and tap “Bluetooth.” Once Bluetooth is turned on, put your Apple Pencil in pairing mode by unscrewing the cap at the end of the pencil and holding down the button that’s revealed. After a few seconds, you should see your Apple Pencil appear in the list of devices on your iPad. Tap it to connect.

Tap the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list.

If you’re having trouble syncing your Apple Pencil with your iPad, there are a few things you can try. First, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on for both your pencil and iPad. You can do this by tapping the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list. Once you’re sure that Bluetooth is turned on, try restarting both devices and then syncing again. If that doesn’t work, try resetting your Apple Pencil.

If you don’t see your Apple Pencil, make sure that it’s charged and that you’re within 30 feet of your iPad.

To charge your Apple Pencil, do one of the following:

-Connect your Apple Pencil to the Lightning connector on your iPad and let it charge for a while.
-Plug the Lightning connector into a USB port on a computer or power adapter and wait for a while.

Once your Apple Pencil has enough charge, try these steps:

-Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on your iPad. You find this in Settings > Bluetooth.
-On the same screen, look under My Devices for your Apple Pencil. If it appears here, tap it to connect.
-If you don’t see your Apple Pencil listed under My Devices, make sure that it’s turned on by doing the following:
-Flip the top of apple pencil open You’ll see a small button just below where the nib meets the body of the pencil. Press and hold this button for about two seconds until the LED blinks white.

Tap the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list.

If you own an Apple Pencil (1st or 2nd generation), you can use it to draw, write, and mark up apps on your iPad. To pair and use your Apple Pencil, make sure that your pencil is charged and near your iPad. Then follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPad.
2. Tap Bluetooth.
3. Tap the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list.

4. If you’re asked to enter a passcode, enter 0000 .
5. After you pair and connect your Apple Pencil, it will stay connected until you turn off Bluetooth or restart your iPad.
6. You can check the charge level of your Apple Pencil at any time by attaching it to your iPad and looking in the Status Bar for the Battery widget.

If you see a message that says “Not Connected,” tap the name of your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device.

If you see a message that says “Not Connected,” tap the name of your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device.

If your Apple Pencil won’t connect to your iPad Pro, make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Then try these steps:

1. Check that your Apple Pencil is turned on
2. Check that there’s no debris or anything blocking the Lightning connector or charging contacts
3. Disconnect, then reconnect your Apple Pencil
4. Restart your iPad Pro and try again

If you still can’t connect, unpair your Apple Pencil, then pair it again:

1. Find the section called My Devices and tap the name of your Apple Pencil.
2. Tap Forget This Device, then tap Forget Device to confirm.
3. Tap the Settings icon on your iPad Pro home screen, then tap Bluetooth. Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on. If you don’t see the Bluetooth icon, it’s possible that you’re in airplane mode: swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open Control Center, then tap to turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Restart your iPad.

If you’re having trouble syncing your Apple Pencil with your iPad, try restarting your iPad. Here’s how:

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button at the top of your iPad for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears.
2. Press and hold the top button on your Apple Pencil for a few seconds until the pairing interface appears on your iPad.
3. Tap Pair.

Open the Settings app on your iPad.

Open the Settings app on your iPad. Tap My Devices, then tap your Apple Pencil. If you don’t see an option to enable Bluetooth, tap the Pencil name, then tap the information button next to the name. Turn on Bluetooth.

Tap the Bluetooth tab.

On your iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth. Find your Apple Pencil (2nd generation) under My Devices or Devices.

If you don’t see your Apple Pencil, make sure that Bluetooth is on and then tap the Bluetooth tab.

Tap the info button next to your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device.

Tap the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list.

Once you have your Apple Pencil, it’s time to connect it to your iPad. Here’s how:

1. Make sure that your iPad is updated to the latest version of iOS.
2. Open the Settings app on your iPad.
3. Tap Bluetooth.
4. Tap the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list.

If you see a message that says “Not Connected,” tap the name of your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device.

If you see a message that says “Not Connected,” tap the name of your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device. If you don’t see your Apple Pencil, make sure that Bluetooth is on, then restart your iPad and try to pair again.

To connect your Apple Pencil with your iPad, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on, then restart your iPad and try to pair again. If you don’t see the name of your Apple Pencil under My Devices in Settings, tap the name of your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device.

Restart your iPad.

If your Apple Pencil won’t connect to your iPad, try restarting your iPad. Here’s how:

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the power off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off your iPad.
3. After your iPad turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Open the Settings app on your iPad.

Select Bluetooth.
Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
Tap the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list.

Tap the Bluetooth tab.

1. To sync your Apple Pencil (2nd generation), make sure that Bluetooth is turned on, then remove the cap and tap the tip of your Apple Pencil on the screen near the bottom edge of your iPad.

2. If you’re using an iPad Pro 11-inch (1st or 2nd generation) or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd or 4th generation), you can pair your Apple Pencil by removing the cap and attaching it to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad.

3. If you’re using an iPad Air (4th generation) or iPad mini (5th generation), you can pair your Apple Pencil by removing the cap and attaching it to the magnetic connector at the center of the top edge of your iPad.

4. To turn off your Apple Pencil, remove the cap and hold down both side buttons at the same time until you see a confirmation message on your iPad saying that “Your Apple Pencil is turned off.”

Tap the name of your Apple Pencil in the Devices list.

If you’re using an Apple Pencil (1st or 2nd generation), remove the cap and plug your Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad. When you see the Pair button, tap it.

If you’re using an iPad Pro 11-inch (1st or 2nd generation) or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd or 4th generation), connect your Apple Pencil to the Smart Connector on your iPad. If you’re using an iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st or 2nd generation), connect yourApple Pencil to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad.

After you pair your Apple Pencil, it stays paired until you restart your iPad, turn off Bluetooth, or unpair manually.

If you see a message that says “Not Connected,” tap the name of your Apple Pencil, then tap Forget This Device.

When you first use your Apple Pencil, you might see a message that asks you to \”Slide to Set Up.\” Tap Continue, then follow the instructions.

If you don’t see this message, or if you see a message that says \”Not Connected,\” touch and hold the Lower Side Button for two seconds, then tap the name of your Apple Pencil when it appears on theBluetooth deviceslist.

After you connect, go to the Bluetooth settings on your iPad and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.

On rare occasions, you might need to reset your Apple Pencil. Just press and hold both the Lower Side Button and Top Button simultaneously for about 20 seconds.

Restart your iPad.

If your iPad and Apple Pencil still aren’t responding properly, try restarting your iPad. Here’s how:

-Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button at the top of your iPad until the Apple logo appears.
-Wait for your iPad to finish starting up, then try using your Apple Pencil again.
