How to Set Up Your Apple Pen

If you want to set up apple pen for use with your iPad, iPhone, ipod touch follow these steps.

Open the box and remove the pen

Open the box and remove the pen, charger, and adapter. If you have apple pencil (1st generation), remove the cap and look for the lightning connector.

If you have an Apple Pencil (2nd generation), remove the cap find the magnetic charging connector.

Connect the pen to your iPad

If you’re using an Apple Pencil (2nd generation), remove the cap and plug it into the Lightning connector on your iPad. When you see the Pair button, tap it.

If you’re using an Apple Pencil (1st generation), remove the cap and twist the Pencil until the built-in Lightning connector is exposed. Plug it into the Lightning connector on your iPad. When you see the Pair button, tap it.

Turn on the pen

To turn on your Apple Pen, press and hold the button on the side of the pen for a second. When led light on the tip of the pen turns white, you’re good to go.

Pair the pen with your iPad

Before you can use your Apple Pen, you need to pair it with your iPad. Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on, then follow these steps:

1. Bring your iPad and Apple Pen close to each other.
2. When you see the image below, tap Pair on your iPad.
3. Tap Continue on your Apple Pen, then wait for it to show as connected in the upper-right corner of your iPad screen.

If you can’t pair or connect your Apple Pen, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on, then restart your iPad and try again.

Test the pen

Before start using your Apple Pen, it’s important to test the pen to make sure it’working properly To do this, open the Notes app and create a new note. Tap the Plus button in the top-right corner, then tap on the Scribble icon.

Now, try writing something in the space provided. If the pen works properly, you should see your handwriting appear on the screen. If the pen doesn’t work, or if your handwriting isn’t appearing properly, make sure that the tip of the pen is touching the screen firmly. You may also need to adjust the pressure settings for your pen.
