Taking a Screenshot on Your iPhone
In this article, we’ll show you how to take a screenshot on your iPhone. Whether you want to save a conversation from WhatsApp or share a funny meme with your friends, taking a screenshot is the way to go.
A screenshot is a picture of your screen that you can take and save on your iPhone. Follow the steps below to take a screenshot on your iPhone.
Open the app or screen you want to capture.
Press and hold the Side button on the right side of your iPhone. At the same time, press the Volume up button on the left side of your iPhone.
You should see a white flash and hear camera shutter sound This means you have successfully taken a screenshot on your iPhone.
The screenshot will be saved to your Photos app.
To take a screenshot on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, simply press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously. The screen will flash white and you’ll hear the shutter sound (if your sound is enabled) to signify that a screenshot was taken.
The screenshot will be saved to your Photos app per the device’s storage limit. If you have iCloud Photo Library enabled, any screenshots you take will be uploaded to iCloud.
Taking a Screenshot on Your iPad
Open the screen that you want to capture. Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time. Your device will take a picture of the screen and save it as a photo.

1. Open the app or screen you want to capture.
2. Press and hold the Side/Sleep button and the Volume up button at the same time.

You find your screenshot in the Photos app, or in the Screenshots album under Albums.
The screenshot will be saved to your Photos app.
To take a screenshot on your iPad, simply press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device and then press and release the Home button. You’ll see a brief flash of white on your screen, after which your screenshot will be saved to your Photos app.
Taking a Screenshot on Your Mac
Capturing a screenshot on a Mac is easy and quick. All you need to do is press “Command + Shift + 3” at the same time. A screenshot of your entire screen will then be saved to your desktop as a .png file.
