Taking a Screen Shot on Your iPhone
No matter what model of iPhone you have, taking a screen shot is easy. A screen shot is an image of your iPhone’s current display. This can be useful if you want to capture something on your screen, like a funny text conversation or a high score in a game. Here’s how to take a screen shot on your iPhone.
Assuming you want to take a screenshot of the current screen on your iPhone, iPad, ipod touch follow these simple steps:
1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top or side of your device.
2. Immediately press and release the Home button.
3. You should see the screenshot appear in the lower-left corner of your device’s screen.
On iPhone X or later or iPad with iOS 12 or later, or iPadOS, press and hold the Side button and click the Volume up button. Then release both buttons. If you have an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button.

To take a screenshot, first make sure that the content you want to capture is visible on your iPhone’s screen. Then, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake (on/off) button on the top of your device. At the same time, press and release the Home button. The screen will flash white and you will hear camera shutter sound indicating that a screenshot was taken and saved to your Photos app.

Taking a Screen Shot on Your iPad
Pressing the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time will take a screen shot of your iPad. The screen shot will be saved in your Photos app.
To take a screenshot on your iPad, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device. While still holding down the Sleep/Wake button, press and release the Home button. You should see the screen flash white. This means you’ve successfully taken a screenshot.

1. Press and release the Home button.
2. At the same time, press and release the Sleep/Wake button.
3. A thumbnail of your screenshot appears in the lower-left corner of your screen.
4. Tap the thumbnail to add drawings and text with Markup, or press and hold the thumbnail to share the screenshot. Swipe left on the thumbnail to dismiss it.
