How to Hard Reset Your Apple Watch
restarting or resetting your Apple Watch can be a great way to fix minor software glitches and issues. It’s also a good way to get rid of anything you don’t want on your watch before you sell it or give it away. Here’s how to hard reset your Apple Watch.
For Models with watchOS 3 or later
Apple Watch Series 2 and later, and Apple Watch SE have built-in water resistance, so you can swim with them without worry. To help keep water out of your watch, Apple Watch Series 2 and later has an expanded speaker port that equalizes pressure on the inside of your watch case, whether you’re swimming or exploring a waterfall.
Always rinse your Apple Watch off after swimming in salt water or chlorinated water to remove any residue. Swimming in sea water, pools, lakes, and rivers might damage the seals on your watch and lead to premature corrosion. Open Water Swim workouts automatically lock your workout when you end it.
If you accidentally drop your Apple Watch in fresh water (for example, a lake or ocean), take these steps:
1. Turn off Airplane Mode.
2. Rinse the watch off under running, fresh water for 10 to 15 seconds. Avoid soap, shampoo, lotions, battery acid, detergent cleaning solutions, compressed air, ultrasonic cleaning systems, and external heat sources such as hair dryers. These might damage the watch case or the bands.
3. Wipe the watch dry with a nonabrasive lint-free cloth
For Models with watchOS 2 or earlier
