How to Reset Your Apple Watch Series 1

If you own apple watch Series 1, you may be wondering how to reset it. Here’s a quick guide on how to do just that!

Open the Settings app on your iPhone

Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap General > Reset.

Tap Erase All Content and Settings.

If you’ve turned on Find My iPhone, you might need to enter your password apple id PIN.

Tap Erase All.

After the process completes, set up apple watch again.

Tap General

Go to Settings > General.

Tap Reset.

If you’re asked for your passcode and you’ve forgotten it, see Apple Watch: Forgotten your passcode.

Tap Erase all content and settings.

For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you want to restart with a cellular plan, tap Keep plan.

Tap Erase All.

If you’re selling or giving away your Apple Watch, you’ll need to unpair it from your iPhone. This will remove all of your personal information and settings from the device. You can unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone using watch app on your iPhone, or by erasing all content and settings directly on your Apple Watch.

If you’re having trouble with your Apple Watch, you may need to reset it to its factory settings. This will erase all of your data and settings, including any credit or debit cards you’ve added for Apple Pay, and returned it to its original state. You can reset your Apple Watch using the Watch app on your iPhone, or by erasing all content and settings directly on your Apple Watch.

If you need start from scratch with your Apple Watch Series 1, you can use recovery mode to erase all content and settings. Once you’ve erased your watch, you can restore it from a backup or set it up as new.

Here’s how to erase all content and settings from your Apple Watch Series 1:

1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap General > Reset.
3. Tap Erase All Content and Settings, then tap Erase All.
4. If asked for your iPhone passcode or Apple Watch passcode, enter it.
5. Wait for the process to finish, then set up your watch as new or restore it from a backup.*

If you have a passcode set up, you’ll need to enter it before you can continue.

1. Press and hold the side button to bring up the Power menu.
2. Tap on the passcode icon.
3. Enter your passcode.
4. Tap on the check mark to confirm.

Once you’ve entered your passcode, you’ll be taken to the main Apple Watch interface.

Tap Erase All

If you want to unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone—for example, if you’re selling your watch or upgrading to a new one—you need to erase all of the content on it. Here’s how:

1. Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together as you begin.

2. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.

3. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
4. If you’ve turned on Activation Lock in Find My iPhone, enter apple id password or passcode on your Apple Watch when prompted during the reset process. Activation Lock prevents anyone else from using your watch if it’s ever lost or stolen.

Once your Apple Watch has restarted, you’ll need to set it up again as if it were new

If you’re selling or giving away your Apple Watch, or you’re having technical issues and need to start over, you can unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone, then erase all content and settings.When you unpair, your Apple Watch will back up automatically to your iPhone. After you erase, you can’t use that backup to restore.

To unpair and erase all content and settings from your Apple Watch:
1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap All Watters > Erase All Content and Settings.
3. For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you want to keep it, tap Allow on your iPhone when prompted.
4. Enter apple id password on your iPhone if prompted
5. Tap Erase everything in the confirmation window that appears on both devices
6. After the process completes on both devices, set up your Apple Watch again
