How to Reset Your Apple TV Remote

If you have apple tv and you’re having trouble with your remote, here’s a quick and easy guide on how to reset it.

Open settings app on your Apple TV. Select Remotes and Devices. Select Remote. If you don’t see Remote, select General > Remotes. Select Set Up New Remote. Put your remote close to your Apple TV. Wait for a moment while your Apple TV searches for your remote. When prompted, point the top of your remote at your Apple TV. Hold down the Menu and Volume Up buttons for 5 seconds, or until you see the light on your remote flash.

Select Remotes and Devices.

On your Apple TV 4K or HDR-capable model, go to Settings > Remotes and Devices. On your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), go to Settings > General > Remotes.

Select Reset Remote.

First, try to charge your remote for at least 30 minutes. If that doesn’t work, try to unpair your remote from your Apple TV.

To unpair your remote:

1. Open settings app on your Apple TV.
2. Select Remotes and Devices > Bluetooth.

4. If you don’t see your remote listed, unpair all remotes by clicking Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
5. Follow the instructions on your screen to finish resetting your remote.

If you don’t see your Apple TV, make sure that your remote is charged and that there aren’t any obstructions between it and the front of your Apple TV. If you still don’t see your Apple TV, try these steps:

Open the Remoteapp on your iOS device, and choose your Apple TV. If asked, enter the 4-digit code that appears on your Apple TV.

Enter the four-digit code that appears on your screen.

When you see the four-digit code appear on your screen, enter it using the numeric keys on the right side of apple tv remote If you don’t see a four-digit code, make sure that your Apple TV is turned on and try again.

Once you’ve entered the four-digit code, your Apple TV remote should be reset and ready to use.

Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons for at least six seconds, or until you see the Apple TV status light flash.
