Apple Watch is a great device, but sometimes you just need to take the band off. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it!

If you’re new to using an Apple Watch, you may not know how to remove the band. While it’s usually a pretty straightforward process, there are a few things you need to know before you get started. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps for removing the band from your Apple Watch.
First, make sure that your watch is turned off. If it’s not, press and hold the side button until you see the power off slider appear on the screen. Once your watch is turned off, locate the release buttons on the underside of the watch near the band attachment points. For most bands, there will be two release buttons – one on each side.
Press and hold one of the release buttons while simultaneously sliding the band away from the watch. Repeat this process for the other side. Once both sides are released, you should be able to easily remove the band from your watch.
If you’re having trouble removing the band, make sure that both release buttons are fully depressed before attempting to slide the band off. You may also need to use a little bit of force to get the band started on its way off of the watch.
What you need
Before you remove the band from your Apple Watch, you need to find the right size for your new band. If you’re not sure, check out our guide to finding the right Apple Watch band size.
Once you have the right size, you can remove the old band and put on the new one. Here’s how:
1. To remove the band, press and hold the release button on the back of your watch.
2. The band should slide out of the groove. If it’s stuck, try using a small piece of paper or another thin object to gently wedge it out.
3. To put on a new band, line up the band with the groove and press it into place until you hear a click.
Step One – Prepare your watch
If you’re planning on removing the band from your Apple Watch, there are a couple things you’ll need to do first. The first step is to make sure your watch is powered off. To do this, press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider appear. Once your watch is off, you can proceed to the next step.
Step Two – Remove the band
If you want to remove the band from your Apple Watch, follow these steps:
1. With the Watch face down, insert a finger under the band where it meets the Watch case.
2. While holding the bottom of the band steady with your finger, press the Quick Release button.
3. The band segments will pop out one at a time. If you’re wearing a Loop, you can remove it by pulling it away from the Watch case.4
Step Three – Clean the band
Gather a few supplies before you begin – you will need a mild dish soap, a soft-bristled toothbrush and some lukewarm water. Simply wet the band in the water and add a drop or two of dish soap to the bristles of your toothbrush. Gently scrub the band clean, taking care not to get the material too wet. Rinse the band well and set it out to dry.
Step Four – Replace the band
If you want to change your band, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the release button on the back of your watch.
2. Slide the band across to remove it from the grooves on the side of your watch.
3. If you’re changing to a new band, line up the new band with the grooves and then slide it into place until you feel it click. To put the old band back on, line it up with the grooves and slide it into place until you feel it click.
Step Five – Adjust the band
If you need to adjust the band on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the release button on the back of the watch.
2. Slide the band across to release it from the watch.
3. To adjust the band, slide the band in or out of the notch on the bottom of the watch.
4. To put the band back on, slide it into place until you hear a click.
