How to remove the band

Before you remove the band from apple watch make sure that you have the right size band for your wrist. If the band is too loose, it could fall off your wrist and get lost. If the band is too tight, it could cause discomfort. The right size band will be snug but not too tight, and you should be able to insert two fingers between the band and your wrist.

Locate the release button

The release button is located on the underside of apple watch in between the bottom of the case and the band. To find it, look for a small indentation.

If your band is attached to the 38mm case, press and hold the release button, then slide the band across to detach it. If your band is attached to the 42mm case, press and hold both release buttons, then slide the band across to remove it.

Push and hold the release button

Push and hold the release button. The band should slide out of the groove. If it’s stuck, try twisting the band while you hold the release button.

Slide the band out of the watch

Slide the band out of the watch. For some bands, you need to press a release button on the back of the watch. If you’re not sure which kind of band you have, see What kind of band does my Watch have?

With the band released, pull from the top of the band toward the bottom of the watch. The band disengages from the watch.

-Press and hold both release buttons at least 10 seconds.
-Tap one or both release buttons again.
