Whether you’re upgrading to a apple watch or just need to replace your current one, you’ll need to pair it with your iPhone. Here’s how!
What You Need
To get started, you’ll need your new iPhone and your apple watch Make sure that your iPhone is running iOS 14 or later, and that your Watch is running watchOS 7 or later. If you’re not sure what version of software you have, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap General > About, and look for the version number next to Software Version.
Once you’ve confirmed that your devices are running the correct software, open watch app on your new iPhone. If you don’t see the Watch app, it might be hidden. To find hidden apps, swipe left on your home screen until you see a search bar. Tap the search bar, type in “Watch”, and tap the Watch app when it appears in the results.
Once you’re in the Watch app, tap “Pair new Watch” at the bottom of the screen. You might be prompted to sign in with apple id if so, enter your password before proceeding. On the next screen, tap “Continue on iPhone.”
How to Pair Your Watch
In order to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone, you will need to make sure that your iPhone is running iOS 8.2 or later. Once you have verified that your phone is running the correct software, you will need to open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. If you do not have the app, you can download it from the App Store. After opening the app, you will need to tap on “Start Pairing” and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Open the Watch app on your iPhone
If you already have an Apple Watch, you can pair it with your new iPhone. Just open the Watch app on your iPhone and follow the prompts.
Select the “Start Pairing” option
Assuming you have an existing Apple Watch, select the “Start Pairing” option on your new watch. This will open the Camera app on your new watch. On your old watch, open the Watch app, and go to General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. When prompted, enter apple id password on your old watch. After your old watch restarts, it will display a pairing code; enter that code on your new watch.
Place your Apple Watch close to your iPhone
Apple Watch uses Bluetooth to connect to your iPhone, so you’ll need to have your iPhone with you when you set up your watch.
start the pairing process, place your Apple Watch close to your iPhone. You should see a message on your iPhone asking if you want to pair with your Apple Watch. Tap Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions.
