How to Pair an Apple Watch to a New Phone

You can pair apple watch with a new iPhone using watch app Once you set up your new iPhone, open the Watch app start pairing

Open the Watch app on your new iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your new iPhone. If you’ve already set up your new iPhone but didn’t set up apple watch open the Watch app and tap Start Pairing. Follow the instructions on your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Tap the My Watch tab.

If you’re setting up your first Apple Watch, wait until you see the “Start Pairing” screen on your iPhone, then tap Continue. If you’ve already set up your Apple Watch and you’re setting it up again, or if you’re switching to a new iPhone, tap the My Watch tab.

Tap “Pair New Watch,” then follow the onscreen instructions.

Scroll down and tap your Apple Watch.

The first thing you need to do when you get a new Apple Watch is pair it with your iPhone. Here’s how:

1. Open the Apple Watch app on your new iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap your Apple Watch.
3. Tap “Pair New Watch.”
4. Follow the instructions on your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Tap Pair New Watch.

On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.

Tap the My Watch tab, tap pair new watch

Hold your Apple Watch close to your iPhone. A message appears on your iPhone asking you to confirm that you want to pair with your Apple Watch. Tap Continue.

If you have a passcode on your Apple Watch, enter it.

If you don’t have a passcode, tap Set Up Later in the message that asks you to enter a passcode.

Position your Apple Watch close to your new iPhone.

1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen.
3. Tap Pair New Watch.
4. Wait for a message on your iPhone asking you to position your Apple Watch close to your iPhone.
5. Raise your wrist, then tapyour watch face when you see The passcode is … and enter the passcode on your watch.
6. Once your Apple Watch is paired with your new iPhone, it will no longer be paired with your old iPhone and you won’t be able to receive calls or messages from that phone on your Apple Watch.

Wait for a message that says, “Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch.”

If you’re setting up your first Apple Watch, pair it with your iPhone. If you’re setting up a new Apple Watch and you already have an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, unpair your current Apple Watch before you set up the new one.

Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS, watchOS, and iCloud.
On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
Tap Start Pairing. If you don’t see Start Pairing, tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen.
Hold your iPhone over the top left of your watch to bring it close to the watch’s NFC reader. A message says “Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch.”
Wait for a message that says “Activate [you watch’s name].” You might need to enter a passcode on your watch or on your iPhone.

Tap Continue.

On your new iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.

Tap Continue, then tap “Move Data from [previous iPhone].”

Enter your previous iPhone’s passcode on your new iPhone. If you don’t have your previous iPhone or can’t sign in, you’ll need to erase your Apple Watch and start over.

Make sure that both WiFi and Bluetooth are on, and wait for a message on your previous iPhone that says “An Apple Watch is trying to connect.” Tap Continue.

On your new iPhone, hold it near your Apple Watch. A message will say “Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch.” Wait for a message that says, “Your Apple Watch is connected.”

When asked, update your watchOS.

You might need to enter a password on your new iPhone to complete the update.

Follow the instructions on your iPhone and Apple Watch.

If you’re setting up your first Apple Watch, you’ll need to pair it with your iPhone. First, make sure that your iPhone is running iOS 14.5 or later and that it’s connected to Wi-Fi. Then, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap “Pair New Watch.”
