How to Make Your Apple Keyboard Discoverable

You can make apple keyboard discoverable so that it can be used with other Bluetooth devices. Here’s how.

Open System Preferences on your Mac.

Open System Preferences on your Mac.
Click Bluetooth.
Select the keyboard in the Devices list, then click the X button .
Click Delete, then click Remove.

Click Bluetooth.

On your keyboard, click the Bluetooth icon . Select your keyboard in the Devices list, then click Pair. If you don’t see the Bluetooth icon, or if pairing doesn’t work, restart your Mac and try again.

Select the keyboard in the Devices list.

Click Bluetooth in the sidebar, select the keyboard in the devices list, then click Pair. If you don’t see the keyboard listed, make sure that it’s turned on and within range of your Mac.

Click the Options button next to the keyboard.

When you set up a new Apple keyboard, or pair it with a new Mac for the first time, you may see a message asking if you’d like to use “Quick Start” or “Full Keyboard Setup.” If you prefer, you can also set up your keyboard manually.

Follow these steps to make your keyboard discoverable:

1. Click the Options button next to the keyboard.
2. If the Options button isn’t visible, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar, then choose Show Preferences from the drop-down menu.
3. Select the checkbox next to “Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer.”
4. Select the checkbox next to “Show Bluetooth status in menu bar.”
5. Click Apply, then click Done.

Select the “Allow Bluetooth devices find this computer” checkbox.

Click the Apple menu icon in top left corner of your screen.

Click System Preferences.

Click Bluetooth.

Click the checkbox next to “Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer.”

Close the Bluetooth Preferences window.

When you’ve finished making your changes, close the Bluetooth Preferences window to apply your changes.
