Here’s how.
What You Need to Start
Podcasting has become a popular way to share audio content, and Apple offers a simple way to create and share your own podcasts. Here’s what you need to get started.
First, you’ll need a Mac computer running macOS Catalina (10.15) or later, as well as the Apple Podcasts app installed. You’ll also need an audio recording device like a microphone, and some type of audio editing software to edit your recordings before you publish them (Apple’s GarageBand is a good option).
Once you have all of that set up, you’re ready to start podcasting! Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating your first podcast on Apple:
1. Open the Apple Podcasts app on your Mac.
2. Click the “My Podcasts” tab at the top of the window.
3. Click the “+”Sign in the upper-left corner of the window and select “New Podcast.”
4. Give your podcast a title, description, and cover image. Then, click “Create.”
5. In the next window, select where you’d like to host your podcast episodes (Apple offers free hosting for up to 5GB of storage). Then, click “Continue.”

6. In the next window, enter your contact information (this is so people can reach out to you if they have any questions or feedback about your show). Then, click “Continue.”
– We also recommend checking the box next to “Include explicit language” — this will help ensure that your show is not censored on any platforms that might otherwise filter out shows with explicit content.
7. In the next window, select any categories that apply to your show (up to 3). Then, click “Save.”
8. Now it’s time to start recording! Click the “Record” button in the upper-right corner of the window and start talking — when you’re finished recording, click “Stop.”
9. Once you’ve stopped recording, you can edit your episode by clicking on it in the list and then clicking the “Edit” button in the upper-right corner of the episode window.
10. When you’re happy with your edited episode, click “Publish” in the upper-right corner of the episode window — this will send it off to be hosted on whichever service you selected in step 5 above!
How to Use Garageband
With Garageband, it’s easy to record and edit your own professional-sounding podcasts. You can even add musical tracks and sound effects. Here’s how to get started.
Open Garageband and create a new project.
Click the “Create New Podcast Episode” button.
Give your podcast a name and choose where you want to save it.
Click “Choose” next to the “Voice” track and select the microphone you want to use. If you don’t see your microphone listed, make sure it’s connected and click the “Refresh” button.
Now it’s time to start recording! Click the red “Record” button at the top of the screen and start talking. When you’re done, click “Stop Recording.”
To edit your recording, click the track and then use the editing tools that appear at the bottom of the screen. To delete a section, click it and press the “delete” key on your keyboard. To move a section, click and drag it to where you want it to go. To add another voice or sound track, click the “+” button at the top of the screen and choose from the available options.
When you finish editing your podcast episode, click “Share” in top left corner of the screen and then choose how you want to share it. You can share it directly to iTunes, export it as an audio file, or send it via email or Messages.
How to Submit Your Podcast to iTunes
Now that your podcast is complete and ready for the world, it’s time to submit it to iTunes so that people can start listening! Here’s how:
1. Go to iTunes and sign in with apple id
2. Click on the Podcasts tab at the top of the page.
3. In the top left corner, click on the “+” sign.
4. A new window will open asking you for your podcast feed URL.
5. Enter your RSS feed URL into the box and click “Submit.”
6. Congratulations! Your podcast is now live on iTunes!
