A step-by-step guide to hooking up your apple tv including what cables you need and how to connect them to your TV.

Introduction

5)On your remote, use the touchpad to select a Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks. If prompted, enter a password for your Wi-Fi network.
6)Once you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network, select Set Up Later or Set Up Now from the next screen. If you choose Set Up Later, you can always set up your Apple TV later by going to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software.

Step 1: Connect the power cord

Step 2: Connect the HDMI cable
Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the back of your Apple TV, then connect the other end to your TV.
If you see a white light on your Apple TV, that means it’s on and ready to set up. If you don’t see a white light, make sure that your power cord is firmly plugged into your Apple TV and connected to a power outlet.
Step 3: Connect to the Internet
Most Apple TVs come with Ethernet ports, which you can use to connect your TV to your router with an Ethernet cable. If your Apple TV doesn’t have an Ethernet port, you’ll need to use a wireless connection.
