How to Get Notifications on Your Apple Watch

Learn how to get notifications on apple watch This guide will show you how to enable and customize notifications.

Open watch app on your iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Tap the watch tab then scroll down to Notifications.

Tap an app, then turn on Allow Notifications. You can also choose the type of notifications that you receive for each app.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then tap Do Not Disturb to turn it on or off.

Tap the watch tab

1. Tap the My Watch tab.
2. Scroll down and tap Notifications.
3. Turn Mirror iPhone Alerts on or off.
4. Tap an app, then turn Allow Notifications on or off.

Scroll down and tap Notifications.

If you want to be able to see your notifications on apple watch you need to make sure that the feature is turned on. Scroll down and tap Notifications. On the next screen, scroll down and make sure that the switch next to Show in Notification Center is turned on.

Tap an app.

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, then tap Notifications.

Tap an app. If you don’t see an app, tap Edit, then add the app.

Turn Allow Notifications on or off. To choose what kinds of notifications an app sends, tap the app’s name.

Turn on Allow Notifications.

4. Repeat these steps for each app whose notifications you want to manage.

Choose how you want to be notified:

You can customize how you receive and view notifications on apple watch You can choose to receive haptic (taptic) feedback, or you can have notifications displayed as a banner. To change these settings, open apple watch app on your iPhone.

Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Notifications.

On the Notifications screen, you can do the following:

-Choose the Sounds & Haptics or Mirror iPhone settings to turn off all sounds and haptics, or to use the sound and vibration settings from your iPhone.
-Turn On Audible Alerts to hear a sound when you get a new notification. Choose from Lound, Medium, or Quiet. With Quiet turned on, haptic alerts vibrate only.
-Turn On Haptic Alerts to feel a tap on your wrist whenever you get a new notification.
-Turn On Show Previews to see a message preview from apps that support this feature.* Apps that support previews include Mail and Messages. After you turn on Show Previews, choose Always Show, When Unlocked, or Never Show.

*Not all apps support message previews. To learn more about an app’s message preview settings, contact the app developer.

Tap Sounds and choose an alert sound.

To customize notification settings, like the sound an alert makes or whether vibrate is on, tap Settings > Notifications > tap an app, then tap Allow Notifications.

You can also change these settings from Control Center. To open Control Center, swipe up from the bottom of the watch face. On iPhone, you can also open Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen.

Tap Do Not Disturb to turn it on or off. When Do Not Disturb is on, notifications don’t ring or light up the watch face.

If you want to be alerted with a sound when you get a notification, even when Do Not Disturb is on, tap Sounds and choose an alert sound.

Tap Haptic and choose an alert type.

Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch. Tap Notifications. Under the My Watch heading, tap Haptic and choose an alert type.

Tap Repeat Alerts and choose how often you want to be alerted.

You can repeat alerts for certain types of notifications, like reminders and timers. Here’s how:

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap Notifications.
Tap Repeat Alerts and choose how often you want to be alerted.

Tap an app.

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, then tap Notifications.

Tap an app, then turn Allow Notifications on or off.

If you allow notifications, choose how and where you want them:
Tap Show Previews to choose Always, When Unlocked, or Never.
Tap Sounds to choose a sound. Tap Badges to turn badge icons on or off.
Tap Alerts to set whether notifications appear in Notification Center or as a banner on your iPhone’s screen.

You can also set options for how notifications are handled when you’re using Do Not Disturb.

Turn on Show on Lock Screen.

The first thing you need to do is make sure that the Show on Lock Screen setting is turned on. This will ensure that any notifications you receive will also appear on your Apple Watch.

To turn on Show on Lock Screen:
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap Notifications.
3. Scroll down and tap Show on Lock Screen.
4. Tap the switch next to Show on Lock Screen to turn it on (it should be in the green ‘on’ position).
