Wondering how to get apps on your new Apple TV? Here’s a quick and easy guide to get you started.

Open the App Store.
Open the App Store. You can do this from the home screen, or by pressing and holding the Touch surface on your Siri Remote until the App Store icon appears.
Browse or search for apps. To see featured apps, scroll down. To browse categories, like Games or Entertainment, click one. To see a specific type of app, like a puzzle game or a streaming service, click Search at the top of the App Store screen and enter what you’re looking for.
When you find an app that you want to download, click Get to the right of its price or FREE in the upper-right corner (depending on whether it’s paid or free). Click Install if it’s a paid app, or click Get if it’s a free app. If you have Touch ID set up on your device and you’re using iOS 8.1 or later , you use touch id instead of apple id password when downloading apps from the App Store., If asked for your password and you don’t have Touch ID set up for purchases, tap Use Password under Shopping Settings in Settings > iTunes & App Stores .
When asked to confirm that you want to buy or download the app, tap Buy/Download., Some apps might have additional charges within the app – for example,, if you make in-app purchases – so check with each app before downloading it . Also be aware that when you set up Family Sharing , some types of content can’t be shared : music , movies , TV shows , audiobooks , books , and iOS Apps .
Browse or search for the app that you want to download.
To browse apps, open the App Store on apple tv You can also search for specific app types by clicking the Discover button on the main App Store screen, such as Games or Education.
When you find an app that you want to download, click Get start downloading it. Once it downloads, it appears on your home screen. If you’re prompted with a free trial offer, click Start Trial to begin using the app immediately. After the trial ends, you’re automatically charged for the full price of the app unless you cancel your subscription beforehand.
Tap the app.
Search for the app that you want on your fourth-generation or 4K HDR Apple TV. Tap Get to the right of the app.
Some apps might have a price to download. If so, tap Buy.
Enter your password, then press the Return key on your Siri Remote.
Tap Get.
If you see an app on the App Store that you want to download, follow these steps:
1. Open the App Store on your Apple TV.
2. Search or browse for the app that you want to download. Apps are organized in categories, such as Games, Productivity, and Entertainment. To browse apps, click a category on the right side of the App Store window.
3. When you find an app that you want to download, click Get next to the app. Free apps will install automatically. Some paid apps might have an additional charge if they offer in-app purchases or subscriptions.
4. If prompted, enter apple id password and click OK . The app begins to download and appears in My Apps when it’s done.
Tap Install.
The easiest way to get apps on your Apple TV is to download them directly from the App Store. Open the App Store app, then browse or search for the app that you want. When you find an app that you want to download, tap Install.
You might need to enter apple id password to complete the purchase. Once you enter your password, the app will start downloading onto your Apple TV. Once it’s done, you can find it in your Purchased tab in the App Store app.
Enter apple id password or Touch ID if prompted.
If you’ve already set up an Apple TV with your iPhone or iPad, you won’t be prompted for your password.
Open the App Store.
Browse or search for the app that you want to download.
Tap the Get button (or price).
Enter your password or Touch ID if prompted.
If you’re asked to agree to either Terms and Conditions or a Software License Agreement, tap Agree if you accept.
The app starts downloading to your Apple TV.
Wait for the app to download and install.
It can take a few minutes for the App Store app to download and install, and you might see a progresses bar on the screen. Once the icon appears on your Home screen, you can open and use it.
