The Storage section lists the apps that take up the most space. If an app isn’t important to you, you can remove it to free up space.

Delete any unwanted or unused apps

To check how much storage space you have left on apple watch open the Settings app on your watch, then tap General > Usage.

If you see apps listed under the Storage heading, tap them, then scroll down and tap Delete App. If you see an app listed under the Other heading, it means that the app is using storage, but you can’t delete it.

You might also want to delete any unwanted or unused apps from your iPhone. That way, they won’t take up space on your Apple Watch.

Clear the app cache

To clear the app cache on your Apple Watch, you’ll need to force quit all of your apps. To do this, press and hold the side button until the power menu appears. At the bottom of this menu, you’ll see an icon that looks like a tiny watch with a circle around it. This is the Force Quit option. Tap it, then tap on each app in turn to force it to close.

Once all of your apps are closed, you can then open each one in turn and clear its cache. To do this, open the Settings app on your watch and tap on General. Scroll down and tap on Usage, then tap on the app that you want to clear the cache for. You should see an option to Clear Cache at the bottom of this screen. Tap on it to remove the app’s cached data.

Offload unused apps

Your Apple Watch stores apps and their data on its 8GB or 16GB of internal flash storage. Those apps can take up a lot of room, especially if they’re games with accompanying graphics. If you find you’re running out of space and need to free some up, you have a few options.

The first option is to delete apps you no longer use from your watch. To do this, press and hold on an app icon from the Home screen, then tap the X that appears in the top-left corner of the app icon. The app and its data will be deleted from your watch.

If there are apps you use occasionally but don’t want to delete, you can offload them instead. This frees up storage space on your watch while keeping the app and its data on your iPhone so you can access it when needed. To offload an app, go to the watch app on your iPhone, then tap My Watch > General > iPhone Storage. Here, you’ll see a list of all the apps installed on your watch along with how much storage each one is taking up. Tap on an app, then turn off the switch next to Show App on Apple Watch to offload it.
