How to use the new Podcasts app
Apple has just released a brand new Podcasts app as part of its iOS 8.4 update. The new app makes finding, subscribing to and listening to podcasts much easier than before. Here’s a quick guide on how to get started with the new app.
How to find and subscribe to podcasts
You can find and subscribe to podcasts in the new Podcasts app.
1. Open the Podcasts app.
2. Tap Search, then enter what you’re looking for [e.g. “how to make a podcast”].
3. Tap a search result to see more episodes.
4. Tap SUBSCRIBE on the show page to add it to your Library.
5. To listen to an episode, tap PLAYEPISODE . You can also tap an episode’s title to get more information about it, and tap +ADD TO PLAYLIST to save it for later.
How to create a station
Podcasts are a great way to catch up on your favorite shows or listen to something new. If you’re new to podcasts, Apple has a built-in Podcasts app that makes it easy to find and subscribe to your favorite shows. You can also create “stations” of shows that you like so you can easily find them later.
Here’s how to create a station in the Podcasts app on your iPhone, iPad, ipod touch
1.Open the Podcasts app.
2.Tap the Search tab at the bottom of the screen.
3.Enter a show or topic that you want to find in the Search bar.
4.Tap Search. You’ll see a list of results for your search term.
5.Tap + Add next to a show or episode that you want to add to your station.
You can also tap + Add next to multiple shows or episodes if you want to add them all at once.
6.When you’re finished adding shows, tap Done in the top-right corner of the screen, then tap Done in the pop-up window too.
How to download podcasts
Podcasts are audio shows, usually episodes that are released regularly, such as daily or weekly. You can subscribe to a podcast in the Podcasts app to automatically download new episodes as they become available, or you can manually download episodes that you want to listen to.
If you’re not sure where to find podcasts, start by opening the Podcasts app. If you don’t see the Podcasts app on your device, you can download it from the App Store.
To subscribe to a podcast:
1. Open the Podcasts app and tap Browse.
2. Tap a category, such as Top Charts, to see a list of podcasts in that category.
3. Tap a podcast that interests you.
4. To see more episodes from that podcast, tap .
5. Tap Subscribe on the podcast’s page.
6. To stop subscribing to a podcast, tap , then tap Unsubscribe on the podcast’s page.

How to find and subscribe to podcasts
Open the iTunes Store app.
Tap the Podcasts tab.
Browse or search for a show.
Tap or click a show to see its episodes.

If you want to subscribe to a podcast and have new episodes appear automatically in your podcasts library as they become available, tap or click Subscribe on the page for that podcast. If you’re asked for payment information, make sure that your payment method is correct and up to date, then tap Subscribe.
How to create a station
A station is a personalized feed of episodes from multiple podcasts that you can create in the Podcasts app. You can base a station on any topic, or on a specific podcast, and share it with friends.
To create a station:
1. Tap the Search tab, then tap the Podcasts button at the top of the screen.
2. Tap the + button next to a podcast, episode, or topic that you want to add to your station.
3. Tap Create Station.
4. Type a name for your station, then tap Save.

How to download podcasts
Downloading podcasts is easy with the Podcasts app for iOS, and you can sync them to your devices using iCloud. If you’re using Mac, you can also use iTunes to download podcasts. Even if you’ve never downloaded a podcast before, it only takes a few moments to get started.
First, open the Podcasts app on your iOS device and tap the Search tab at the bottom of the screen.
In the search field at the top of the screen, type in the name of the podcast you want to download, then tap Search.
You can also browse for podcasts by tapping any of the featured podcasts on the main screen, or tap Top Charts at the bottom of the screen to see what’s popular.
When you find a podcast that interests you, tap it to open its page.
On a podcast’s page, you’ll see information about that show as well as a list of episodes. To start downloading an episode, tap on its title.
You can also choose whether or not to subscribe to a podcast from its page; if you subscribe, new episodes will automatically download as they become available. To do this, just tap Subscribe under any show’s title.
