Introduction
When you contact Apple for support, you might be asked for your serial number. Here’s how to find your Apple Watch’s serial number. If you need to send apple watch in for service, you’ll need to know your serial number. You might also be asked for it when contacting Apple Support. Here’s how to find your watch’s serial number.
How to find your serial number in the Watch app
If you need to reference your Apple Watch’s serial number for any reason, you have a few different options for finding it.
The first place to look is in watch app on your iPhone. Just open the app, then tap “My Watch” at the bottom of the screen. From there, tap “General,” then “About.” You should see your watch’s name at the top of the screen, and right below that, its serial number.
You can also find your watch’s serial number in the Settings app on your iPhone. Just open the app, tap “General,” then “About.” Scroll down until you see the name of your watch under “Watch Name,” and directly below that, you’ll see its serial number.
If you don’t have your iPhone handy but you know where your watch is, you can find its serial number right on the device itself. Just open the Settings app on your watch, tap “General,” then “About.” Your watch’s serial number will be listed under “Serial Number.”
How to find your serial number on your Apple Watch
Your Apple Watch can be useful for a lot of things, but one thing it’s not so good at is telling you its own serial number. In fact, unless you dig into the Watch app on your iPhone (or pair it with a Mac), there’s really no way to find out what that number is.
There are a few reasons why you might need your Apple Watch’s serial number. Maybe you’re selling it and need to give the buyer some identification for the device. Maybe you’re taking it in for service and the Genius Bar needs to know which Watch you have. Maybe you just want to add it to your list of prized possessions. Whatever the reason, we’ll show you how to find your serial number in a few different ways.
First, let’start with the most obvious place: The Settings app on your Watch. Unfortunately, this isn’t going to work for all models of Apple Watch. If you have an original Apple Watch, Series 1, or Series 2, you’re out of luck; those devices don’t have their serial numbers listed in Settings at all. For everyone else, though, just open up the Settings app on your Watch and go to General -> About. Scroll down until you see “Serial Number.”
How to find your serial number on the original packaging
The Apple Watch doesn’t have a traditional serial number like other Apple products. Instead, there’s a Digital Crown Serial Number, which uses pseudorandom numbers. You might need your serial number to request support or warranty service, or to register your Apple Watch with Apple. If you still have the original packaging for your Apple Watch, you can find the serial number on the barcode label:
-On the watch box:
Look near the bottom of the box, where you should see a white label that lists the product name and model as well as some other information in small print. The 12-digit serial number is listed near the UPC code in black lettering.
-On the apple watch band box:
If you bought an Apple Watch with a sport band or loop, check the inside surface of the band box — near where it says Designed by Apple in California. If there’s no serial number contact apple support
How to find your serial number if your Apple Watch is lost or stolen
If you lose your Apple Watch or it’s stolen, you can use the Find My app to find your Apple Watch and take additional steps to protect your information.
