What You Need

Creating an Apple ID is easy and free. Just enter your name, email address, and a password, then click Continue.

If you don’t have an Apple device
You can create an Apple ID on your PC, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch without providing a payment method. If you’re signing in on a new device for the first time, you might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID. If asked for payment information, choose None.

Enter your information and click Continue. By default, the country or region that you’re in is selected. To change this, click the country or region name. If you don’t see your country or region listed, click + to add it to the list of available countries or regions then select it from the list.

Creating an Apple ID

If you don’t have an Apple ID

To create an Apple ID without a payment method:
1. Open iTunes and click Sign In.

Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security for your Apple ID designed to ensure that you’re the only person who can access your account, even if someone knows your password.

When you set up two-factor authentication, you’ll register one or more trusted devices with your Apple ID. A trusted device is a device that can receive 4-digit verification codes using either SMS or Find My iPhone. You can also use these verification codes to sign in to iCloud.com, make purchases in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store, and sign in to other Apple websites.

If you have two-factor authentication turned on for your Apple ID, you’ll be asked to verify your identity using one of your registered devices before you can:

Sign in to iCloud.com
Make purchases in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store
Make changes to your Apple ID and account settings at appleid.apple.com
Get support from Apple Support online or by phone

If you don’t have two-factor authentication turned on for your Apple ID, you won’t be able to use iCloud Keychain and iCloud Backup.

iCloud

icloud account is necessary to use an iOS device. It gives you access to iCloud services and allows you to manage your Apple ID and password. You can also use it to sign in to the App Store, make purchases, and more.

Here’s how to create an iCloud account on your iOS device:

1.Tap Settings > [your name].
2.Tap “Create new apple id ” If you’re using iOS 10.3 or later, tap “Sign in with your Apple ID” and skip the next two steps.
3.Enter your birth date, name, and email address. Tap “Next.”
4.Select the country or region that you want to use for your iCloud account and tap “Next.”
5.Enter a valid email address that you want to use as your Apple ID username and tap “Next.” If you don’t have an email address, tap “Get a free iCloud email address.”
6.Create a secure password for your new iCloud account and enter it twice when prompted. Then tap “Next.”
