How to Copy and Paste on an Apple Computer

Open the document, web page, or email message that you want to copy

To copy text or an image from a document, web page, or email message, open it in an appropriate app, then do one of the following:

-Select the text or image you want to copy, then choose Edit > Copy.
-Press and hold the trackpad or mouse while you drag to select the text or image you want to copy. To select part of an image, press and hold the Option key while you click and drag a selection on top of the image. Then choose Edit > Copy.
-Right-click (or Control-click) an item, then choose Copy from the shortcut menu.

Select the text, images, or other content that you want to copy

To copy text, images, or other content from one place and paste it into another:

1. Select the text, images, or other content that you want to copy.
2. On your keyboard, press Command + C. This copies the selected content to your computer’s clipboard (a temporary storage area).
3. Move the pointer to the location where you want to paste the content, then press Command + V. This pastes the content from your clipboard into the new location.

You can also use the trackpad to copy and paste:

With the pointer on what you want to copy, press and hold the Trackpad button or click with two fingers, then choose Copy. The item copies to the Clipboard.
To paste, move the insertion pointer to where you want the pasted item, then press and hold the Trackpad button or click with two fingers, then choose Paste.

Go to the location where you want to paste the content, then press and hold the Command key, then press the V key

Depending on what you want to copy and paste, the process will be different. If you want to copy and paste text, follow these steps:

1. Select the text you want to copy.
2. Press and hold the Command key, then press the C key. This will copy the selected text.
3. Go to the location where you want to paste the content, then press and hold the Command key, then press the V key. This will paste the copied text.

If you want to copy and paste an image, follow these steps:

1. Select the image you want to copy.
2. Press and hold the Command key, then press the C key. This will copy the selected image.
3. Go to the location where you want to paste the content, then press and hold the Command key, then press the V key. This will paste the copied image.

You can also use the Edit menu. With the document, web page, or message open, choose Edit > Copy, then go to the location where you want to paste the content and choose Edit > Paste
