How to Connect Your Apple Watch to Your Phone

If you’re an iPhone user with apple watch you may be wondering how to connect the two devices. Here’s a quick and easy guide on how to do just that.

Open watch app on your iPhone.

1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

2. Tap the My Watch tab, tap pair new watch

3. Position your iPhone so that apple watch appears in the viewfinder in the Watch app. Wait for an animation to appear on your Apple Watch, then tap Continue. If you don’t see an animation, or you see the message “Accessories Powered Off,” check that both devices have Wi-Fi turned on and are in range of each other.

4. After your Apple Watch information appears, tap Continue, then agree to the terms and conditions. You might need to enter apple id password to continue.
5. Set up cellular on your Apple Watch (optional). If you have an LTE-enabled watch, you can set it up to use a cellular connection. This allows you to stay connected even when you don’t have your iPhone with you. For more information, see Set up cellular on your Apple Watch – Apple Support.
6. Choose how to set up your watch: Automatic or Manual. If you choose Automatic, keep your iPhone next to your watch as it updates over Wi-Fi.* If you choose Manual, follow the instructions that appear on your iPhone and watch.(*Some features require iOS 12 or later.)

Tap the My Watch tab.

1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the My Watch tab.
3. Tap your watch at the top of the screen.

Assuming you’ve already set up your Apple Watch and are wearing it, you’ll need to connect it to your iPhone before you can use most features. Here’s how:

1. Tap your watch at the top of the screen.
2. Swipe down and tap the Settings gear icon. Alternatively, you can press the Digital Crown to access the app screen and then tap the Settings app icon.
3. Scroll down and tap Bluetooth. It should say “Connected” next to it if everything is working properly. If not, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone by opening the Settings app and tapping Bluetooth (it should be turned on).

Tap Pair New Watch.

If you’re setting up your first Apple Watch, tap Pair New Watch. If you’ve already set up an Apple Watch and you’re setting up a new one, unpair your current Apple Watch before you continue. To unpair, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap the My Watch tab, then tap [your watch] at the top of the screen. Scroll down, then tap Unpair Apple Watch.

If you can’t tap Pair New Watch, restart your iPhone and try again.

Hold your watch close to your iPhone.

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and hold your watch close to it. A message should pop up on your watch asking if you’d like to pair it with your phone. Once you tap “Pair,” your watch will show you a six-digit code that you’ll need to enter into your phone.

Wait for a message that says, “Your Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone.”

When you pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone, your Apple Watch will stay connected to your iPhone whenever you’re in range. If you have an Apple Watch 3 (GPS + cellular), you can also stay connected to a cellular network.

Tap Continue.

If you see a message that says “Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch,” tap Continue.

Make sure that the features that you want to use on your watch are turned on.

Before you can use your Apple Watch, you need to connect it to your iPhone.

1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the My Watch tab.
3. Tap your watch at the top of the screen.
4. If asked, enter apple id password
5. Follow the instructions on your iPhone and watch.

Tap Set Up as New or Restore from Backup.

If you’re setting up your first Apple Watch, tap Set Up as New. If you’re setting up your Apple Watch from a backup, tap Restore from Backup, then follow the instructions.

If you need help, try these steps.

1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Pair New Watch.
3. Follow the instructions on your iPhone and watch.

If you can’t connect wirelessly, try connecting your watch to your iPhone using the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Cable. You might need to wait a moment for it to appear in the list of available devices.

1. Connect your watch to its charger.
2. Place your watch on its side so that the buttons face up.
3. Press and hold the button on the right side of your watch until you see the Apple logo.
4. Wait for your watch to finish restarting, then try to connect it again.
