How to Connect Your Apple TV

Having trouble connecting your new Apple TV to your home entertainment system? Here are a few tips to get you started.

Open the Settings app on your Apple TV.

Open the Settings app on your Apple TV. Select Accounts. Select Parental Controls. Select Restrictions. If you don’t see Restrictions, make sure that you’ve set up a passcode for your Apple TV.

Select Turn On Restrictions. Enter a four-digit code. Re-enter the code to confirm it, then select Done.

Select Accounts.

If you have more than apple id you can use the same Apple ID for all Apple services. If you have an Apple ID that you use with a different service, such as iTunes Store, make sure that your Apple ID uses the same email address.

Tap Settings > Accounts > iTunes & App Store.
Tap Settings > Accounts > iCloud.

Select the accounts that you want to use with your Apple TV:

To see a list of your iCloud accounts and sign in to them, tap Settings > Accounts > iCloud.
To see a list of your iTunes Store accounts and sign in to them, tap Settings > Accounts > iTunes & App Store.

Select Add Account.

On your Apple TV, go to Settings > Accounts. Select Add Account.

Select your account type.

After you turn on your Apple TV, you see the welcome screen. Select your account type:

– If you set up an Apple Music profile or icloud account on your Apple TV, select it here. You might need to enter your Apple ID and password.
– If you don’t have an iCloud account or an Apple Music profile, select “Create NewApple ID.” You need an iPhone, iPad, ipod touch with iOS 11.2 or later or a Mac with macOS Sierra 10.12.2 or later to create a newApple ID.

Enter your account information.

When you use your Apple TV for the first time, you’re prompted to enter your iTunes Store account information. If you don’t have an iTunes Store account, you can create one during setup or in Settings later.

If you set up apple music subscription on your Apple TV, you can also sign in to apple music app with your Apple ID and password. For more information, see theApple Music Terms and Conditions.

Select Sign In.

If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can create one.

On your Apple TV 4K or Apple TV (4th generation), go to Settings > Accounts > iCloud and make sure that iCloud Photos is turned on. On your Apple TV (3rd generation), go to Settings > General > iTunes Store. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 11 or later, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and turn on iCloud Photos.

If you’re asked for your device passcode or Restrictions passcode, enter it.

If prompted, enter the verification code that appears on your device.

Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. If you’re using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud.

Tap the setting for Keychain, then turn on iCloud Keychain.

Type a four-digit verification code, then enter it again on the next screen. You can also choose to add a recovery key, which you can use to regain access to your keychain if you forget your password.

Tap Done, then enter apple id password on the next screen if prompted.

Select Allow to allow the Apple TV to access your data.

On your iOS device, go to Settings > TV > Networks.

Under Connection, select the type of network you want to connect to:
-If you want to connect to a wireless network, select Wireless. You might be prompted to enter a password.
-If you want to connect to a wired network, select Ethernet.

Select what you want to share with your Apple TV.

With AirPlay, you can wirelessly stream audio, video, and photos from your Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your TV and speaker. You can also use AirPlay to mirror your device’s display on your TV or projector.

start using AirPlay, follow these steps:

1. On your device, go to Settings > WiFi and make sure that WiFi is turned on.
2. Select the name of the Apple TV that you want to use.
3. If asked, enter the password for your Apple TV. To stop streaming audio or video from your device, tap , then tap Stop AirPlay.

Select Save.

After you select the network, enter the password, then select Join. If you don’t see a Join button, contact your network administrator.

After you connect to the network, your Apple TV should have internet access.
