Assuming you have an iPhone 5 or later, you can connect your Apple Watch to it using Bluetooth. In order to do this, you’ll need to make sure that your iPhone is running at least iOS 8.2, and that your Watch is running WatchOS 1.0 or later.

To begin, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. You should see a screen that says “Start Pairing” near the top. Tap on this, and then you’ll be given a few instructions on how to proceed.

First, you’ll need to make sure that your Watch is in range of your iPhone (generally, about 30 feet). Once it is, hold down the side button on your Watch until you see the Apple logo appear. When this happens, release the button and wait for a few seconds; your Watch should then appear in a list on your iPhone’s screen.

Tap on it to begin connecting, and enter the passcode that appears on your Watch’s screen when prompted. After a few seconds, the connection should be complete and you should see a “Pairing Complete” message on your iPhone’s screen.

Wait for your Apple Watch to connect.

After you set up your Apple Watch, you’ll be asked if you want to use it with your iPhone. If you choose to, your Apple Watch will need to be connected to your iPhone in order for most features to work.

There are two ways that you can connect your Apple Watch to your iPhone: via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. If you’re using Bluetooth, your Apple Watch will need to be within range of your iPhone (approximately 30 feet or 9 meters). If you’re using Wi-Fi, your Apple Watch will need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone.

Once you’ve chosen which method you want to use to connect your devices, follow the instructions on the screen. In most cases, all you’ll need to do is hold your Apple Watch close to your iPhone and wait for a message that says that they’re paired.
