How to Improve Your Sleep with Apple Watch

If you want to improve your sleep, there are a few things you can do. One is to track your sleep with Apple Watch. This will give you an idea of how well you’re sleeping and what changes you need to make. You can use apple watch to set a bedtime and wind down before sleep.

Keep a regular sleep schedule

A regular sleep schedule is crucial for good sleep. Most people need about 7-8 hours of sleep a day. While you may not be able to get this exact amount every night, you should try to keep a consistent sleep schedule as much as possible. This means going to bed and waking up at roughly the same time every day, even on weekends.

One way to help you stick to a regular sleep schedule is to use the “Bedtime” feature on your Apple Watch. This feature will remind you when it’s time to go to bed and wake up, based on the amount of sleep you want to get each night. It will also track your sleep and give you insights into your sleep patterns.

To use the “Bedtime” feature:
1) Open the “Clock” app on your Apple Watch.
2) Tap “Bedtime” in the bottom left corner.
3) Set your daily “Wake up” time and select how many hours of sleep you want to get each night.
4) Tap “Done” when finished.
5) When it’s time for bed, your Apple Watch will notify you with a tap on the wrist and an alarm sound.
6) Tap the “Start Sleep” button when you’re ready to go to bed.
7) Your Apple Watch will track your sleep throughout the night and give you insights into your sleep patterns in the morning.

Use Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb is a feature on Apple Watch that mutes notifications and blocks incoming calls when you don’t want to be disturbed. You can schedule Do Not Disturb, or turn it on and off manually in the Control Center.

To access Control Center, swipe up from the bottom of the watch face.

Limit screen time before bed

To wind down before bed and avoid staring at a screen right before you sleep, Apple watch has a feature called Nightstand mode. This puts the time and date on apple watch face and when it’s placed on its side on a nightstand, the Digital Crown becomes a snooze button for an alarm. Nightstand mode is only available when your Apple Watch is charging.

Use Night Shift

During the day, blue light from your iPhone or iPad can keep you awake. Night Shift uses your device’s clock and geolocation to determine when it’s sunset in your location. Then it shifts the colors in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum, making it easier on your eyes. In the morning, it returns the display to its regular settings.
