Introduction
Your Apple Pencil charges quickly—in about 15 seconds you can get enough power for 30 minutes of use. 1 To give your Pencil a full charge, make sure you have at least 50% battery life remaining on your iPad. Connect the two devices and let them charge for at least 15 minutes.
If you’re using iPad Pro (11-inch) or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation), you can charge your Apple Pencil from the Smart Connector on your iPad Pro. 2 Just attach the magnetic end of your Apple Pencil to the charging port on either side of your iPad Pro, and make sure the charging indicator on top of Apple Pencil is facing up.
You can also charge your Apple Pencil with any Lightning cable that comes with an iPhone, iPad, ipod touch 3 Just attach the Lightning connector to the charging port on top of Apple Pencil and plug it into an outlet or USB port using one of these cables.
