Connect your Apple Pencil to the Lightning connector on your iPad.

To charge your Apple Pencil (1st generation), connect it to the Lightning connector on your iPad and let it charge for a while. It takes about 15 seconds for your Apple Pencil to charge enough to give you 30 minutes of use.

Plug the other end of your Apple Pencil into the USB power adapter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

To charge your Apple Pencil (1st generation), plug the Lightning connector into the port on the back of the Apple Pencil. Then plug the other end of your Apple pencil into the USB power adapter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

It takes about 15 seconds for your Apple Pencil to charge enough to provide 30 minutes of use. When your Apple Pencil is fully charged, it will last for about 12 hours.

Wait until the green LED on your Apple Pencil flashes three times, indicating that it’s fully charged.
