How to Charge Your Apple Pencil

Connect your Apple Pencil to the iPad.

To charge your Apple Pencil, simply connect it to the lightning connector on your iPad. The Apple Pencil will begin charging automatically and you will see a small lightning bolt icon appear next to the battery icon in the status bar.

It takes about 15 seconds to charge your Apple Pencil enough for 30 minutes of use, so if you’re in a hurry, you can get a quick boost by connecting it for a short time. When your Apple Pencil is fully charged, the status bar will show a 100% charge.

The iPad will automatically search for the Apple Pencil and display a battery icon next to the Apple Pencil in the status bar.

If the Apple Pencil is attached to your iPad, you can check the battery level by doing either of the following:

– Tap the status bar to display the battery percentage in the top-right corner of the screen, then look for the battery percentage next to your Apple Pencil.

– Go to Settings > General > Usage, then look for the battery percentage next to your Apple Pencil.

It takes about fifteen minutes to charge an Apple Pencil from empty to full. When your Apple Pencil is charging, you see a lightning bolt next to the battery icon in the status bar.

If the Apple Pencil is connected and the battery icon is not displayed, charge your Apple Pencil for 30 minutes.

If the Apple Pencil is connected and the battery icon is not displayed, charge your Apple Pencil for 30 minutes.

If you’re using your Apple Pencil with an iPad Pro 11-inch (1st or 2nd generation) or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd or 4th generation), you can attach your Apple Pencil to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad and charge it that way.

To charge your Apple Pencil (2nd generation), remove the cap and plug it into the Lightning connector on your iPad. You can use your Apple Pencil while it charges.

If you can’t charge your Apple Pencil, make sure that you’re using a supported charger and cable. You can use the Apple Pencil Adapter that came with your iPad Pro, or a compatible adapter, such as the one that came with your iPhone.

If you’re using iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation) or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation), you can use the USB-C port on your iPad Pro to charge your Apple Pencil. Just attach the adapter that came with your iPad Pro to the Lightning connector on Apple Pencil, then plug it into the USB-C port on your iPad Pro.
